Hey guys! New to world of Subaru and decided to jump aboard. I've had my car for about 3 weeks now and just got done with with break in period!

Since I'm moving to MN in the summer for at least a year, I figured I'd give a shout and see what the MN community is like. Hoping to make it out to some meets and meet some new folks.

Welcome to the site, you'll have to try and make it out for the Tuesday Meets. What sort of car did you buy and pictures please!

Thanks for the welcome! So I got an '11 WRX in OBP, and I have to say it's an absolute blast. The Tuesday Meets sound like a bunch of fun, I'll definitely try to make it over every now and then.

BTW, would anyone happen to know how to get around the silly 50% tint law? I'd like to get 35% all around, which is the legal limit in Illinois, but I don't want to get unnecessary tickets. Is it something I should even worry about?

I'm a noob too but welcome :). I just got pulled over this morning for my 35%. I bought my rex when I was in Virginia with the tint already on but it's a no go here in MN. I was going 5mph over, burnt out tail light, front license plate in the windsheild, and all he cared about was the deep tint so I'd say if you don't want to be bothered I wouldn't do it.

My perscription is for 20% but my windows are only 27% after the factory uv treatment and 35% film.

I will be keeping my IL plates. Will this basically give me a free pass? I will be sort of a student, more of a trainee.

I found it's easy to get the tint prescription. Mine is for 20% max too. I have 35% tint on 3 cars and never been pulled over in 5 years; but I'm ready when I do. Just need to remember to renew your tint prescription every 2 years.

I have a black WRX too, and I have 32 I believe all around, and have never had a problem either. I will probably try to get my tint prescription sooner or later... But I think with the darker cars, especially black, it is almost a littler easier to get away with because it's not so drastic of a contrast with your car color...but that's just my opinion...lol. Welcome!
