ya well, sorry but even if that car had the normal scoop it still looks bad to me considering the car is black and the scoop is white! and has 5" of wheel gap w lo-pros.... but envisioning the reciprocal, I don't think the scoop would look 1/2 bad. watever floats your boat..

i had to, even though we already decided that big scoops done belong on little cars with opposite body lines. nice car man i work with mike, so i have seen that car pretty much everyday, shes beautiful, especially in the summer down at the calhoun meets :yumyum:
this is such bs considering the big scoop doesnt fit the body lines of an 05 sti they come factory on in the first place IMO. They are an extreme, they dont flow, function over form! Thats the whole Point!!! sick of arguing this, no one is going to change my mind so stop trying :biggrin: I dont care what anyone says, I think you're legacy look badass, prob the best looking legacy from that generation ive seen in mpls; simple, mostly oem looking and great stance! even more so with the scoop! double props for doing what you want despite everyone thinking otherwise!
seriously though, I don't care what you do with your car lol. I just like making fun of huge scoops (don't worry, my STI has 2 huge scoops. One of which doesn't do anything since the car is n/a. so yea, STI, 2 scoops, no turbo)
i also dont car either, it was just a light haze. we gave that guy **** too for putting tha scoop on his car, but guess what, hes got a full sti swap + 6 spd and complete driveline. i actually kind of like that big scoop on that car too. :hsugh: and no thats not my car.

it's a Rally America Open Light class car (awd, 2.5 n/a powerplant). build info up until the n/a conversion here http://www.ziptierally.com/04openlightsti.html it's not that responsive lol - it's using turbo cams, a turbo exhaust manifold and the rather heavy stock flywheel. it makes 136whp, 136wtq at RS Motors - we can still haul ass down a forest road though
I personally love how mike's, well, your car looks right now. a wrx scoop would look good but the 04/05 sti would just tower too high. (those OZ's on it came off my sti when it was a street car)
are you going to get new cams and lightened fly, then tune it NA? I'm sure it has a looooot more in it than 136! maybe you're right, the wrx scoop is bigger than the 2.5rs but smaller than the sti right? you want them? I was pondering if I wanna sell them... tires are like new.
na, no point - this is a very temporary set-up for 1 season only (about 7 stage rallies plus a season of rallycross). the wrx scoop is in between. The 04/05 sti scoop is ungodly large - even the 06/07 sti scoops are smaller

actually just saw the scuba steve thread on needing someone to help out on your rally team carl, although I wouldn't be available for such a commitment at the moment; that is an incredible learning opportunity while still being incredibly exciting and fun. I'm sure there will be a perfect fit from someone in the club. But I'd def be interested in attending and cheering you guys on, which rally would be closest to the cities? does it bolt in to a 2000 gc hood?
Uh I don't know? I'm thinking not but I don't know. I know that 02-03 scoops don't work for 04-05 and 06-07 don't mix so I would guess not. Just a thought and I am not using it.
pm'd. washed the car for the first time last night- the paint is such an amazing color espec. in the light. its like it has a blue hue/purple pearl or something so it doesn't look just like gray in light. def need to figure out the rust situation on the bottom ds rocker, maybe try to sand it tonight. also lots of chipping paint spots, gonna be hard to find touchup paint in a similar color but will have to find something. can't wait to claybar all the excess wax off all the door seals and really get this thing cleaned up. Looking for 17x8 rota boosts or 18x8 rota formula mesh (BBS RE reps), doesn't matter what color (they'll be getting powdercoated). Holler if can help!
WTB: Titanium shift knob. wouldn't mind the burnt look of an ARC knob or close to oem sti knob. & STi badge, the one that fits in the corner of the boot. also, what size bulbs are in the fog lights (00 2.5rs)? one went out, gonna buy a set... Thanks!
