It's not terribly crucial which way they go, coolant flows through it....

But, the lines do not cross from the factory. The top pipe on the engine is a bit more to the passenger side, it goes across to the passenger side on the firewall, and the other one stays on the driver's side.

This build is insane. I hope you end up going with fender flares, that would be so sick

Before any body loses it - I DID weld the panels together and filled with seam sealer. Then when dry, I will POR 15 everything around there and respray well with undercoating. The front has been POR 15 (thus the black stuff.)

Looks like when we Began..... But now we are almost done- thanks to Jesse!! Wiring master! image.jpg image.jpg

One major snag that I should have caught early on, when the harness runs through the fender it will absolutely get crushed by the wheel now that the fenders are cut and car is lower... Time to improvise
    image.jpg
I ended up pulling the fender brace and section it plus take a length of steel, cut to shape curve the ends, weld it, and create a new channel for the wires to ride on higher up and still allow drainage

Don't those fender braces provide some structural rigidity? Looks like your mod may hinder that. Nice project btw, I am always interested in your updates.

Yeah your probably right- but right now if it's easy to change down the road I'm going for getting the car running right now

On a side note... I Need a Impreza tail light harness - it's 3 bulbs and a clip- anybody have one- - for the 93-2001 impreza chassis? I also need a cheap passenger seat to get me through tuning- pay nicely for either right now

How high can the coolant get in the washer reservoir before it's higher than the fill point on the radiator?

I do have a Saabaru passenger seat (probably two even) that you could have for dirt cheap. The seat base is the same as the 02-07 wrx, and I believe those also fit in the GC chassis. Soonest I could get them to you would be on Sunday though. Let me know!

About 3/4 way up.. But I still retained my oem header tank, so as an overflow I don't think it should matter as the tube goes all the way to the bottom of the tank and it works off suction or pressure, so if I keep the tank always above the tube and allow room for overflow it should be fine at any height I would imagine?!?

I also actually did find a harness and seat from a buddy so we will see tomorrow what I end up with... Thanks everyone!! Initial test start is probably Wednesday this week!!!

I need help! Nuke came to tune- we flashed ecu , car will turn over but not start. This is an 05 sti harness with immobilizer , key, key drum, and ecu. But it's not getting spark or fuel---- though we hear fuel running through the lines... Need help? Anybody know how to bypass the immobilizer? Does anyone know definitively about needing a matching gauge cluster or needing the body integrated units installed to start the car?

Gauge cluster immobilizer code must match the immobilizer code in the ECU.

Thank you, so I'm in a bind then... Shoot. What is the best way to get past this? I do not have access to the original gauge cluster... 04 sti ecu and repin harness connecter? Everyone tells me about the immobilizer bypass, but I can't seem to find any how to's. Bypass seems easiest? Any help is so appreciated!!!!

The proper gauges and all the keys programed at the dealer is the only way I know.

I'm pretty sure @Sjogun could get things reprogrammed to match, but you may have to tow the car to his shop - I doubt they'd let the programmer off the lot.

So I have talked with a lot of people this morning- it sounds like I need an 05 cluster- any one, to work. Something with the fact that my 04 cluster is in conflict with my 05

Some random cluster will not work either. The ECU and the gauge cluster both have to have matching RF ID tag info from the key programing for the immobilizer to be turned off.

It drives....kinda! Went to get some gas - rubs like crazy and is completely out of alignment and only a base tune but it RUNS (and vibrates a lot) :)

I think it was a mix of the immobilizer stuff/ some vacuum leaks / and a few wires that needed sorting - but she starts perfectly now every time - I ended up using an 04 ECU to help and that allowed me to ditch ALL of the immobilizer stuff
