Seibon Carbon Trunk On 2014 STI

I've never liked the spoiler on my STI, well any spoiler on any car for what it's worth and i finally got rid of it.

It took awhile to get to me but it arrived safely with no damage. There was a lot of loose debris in the lid, so i brought it to the machine shop to blow it out clean.

Installation was pretty easy besides drilling out all the holes and 2 that were missing for the bottom edge bumpers. I actually found the instructions after everything went on lol

I am extremely satisfied with the outcome. The car looks more normal now, if that makes sense, the wing made it look weird IMO.

I've removed the trunk spring completely because Seibon said it would bend the lid over time.

The fitment was great, just like oem but you can't use the springs, the lid bends a little.

If you put a small child on the trunk, you could have a great amusement ride.

I'll make a brace to keep it open, when I use, which isn't much.

 

Use magnets to keep it open. @GiMp has a cf trunk lid and the magnets are real slick.

 

Like rare earth magnets or whatever their called?

 

Yeah neodymium magnets.

 

Talked to GiMp and magnets are on their way. I'll report back once installed.
