A stock 227 hp (crank-rated) will put down around 170whp at RS, iirc. I think it is quite feasible to muster out 200hp (crank) out of a high compression 2.5L motor if you rev it high enough.

sorry, I forgot all about the aftermaret pistons, yes.... in retrospect I am far too low in my final guess/answer.

my spec-v w/ intake header and exhaust, 2.5 l put down 178 whp and 175 lbsfttq at the front wheels....

so with drive line loss taken in to consideration, I would say I'm prolly still a touch low.

No, 11:1 is NOT low compression. I think this will do better than most people think it will do. Plus, if Ronnie can manipulate the AVCS enough, it SHOULD do really well.

I'm still hoping for 170 wheel hp.

I think a shorter runner intake would definitely help alot tho.

yea, compression is definitely pretty high. which is why I threw out such a high tq number. although I hadn't thought about the cams.

tuning for 92, though. hope they leave a safety margin there, as 92 is hard to get outside the cities.

no, higher compression (11:1) NON_TURBO motor so we can run the Open Light series this year in Rally America. Huge bump in compression!!!!

we need to run an N/A motor until we get our coefficent points (18) and then step-up in class next year and get the turbo motor back in the car.

it's the ONLY way we could use carl's car for rally america this year

 

Yes, stock compression is 8.2:1 or so. 8.2 -> 11 is a major jump. Most N/A cars are around 10:1 if that.
