I did. It's a little too deep for summer tires now tho :(

    Next time for sure!

no, I want you to build me some 275-295/30/18 tires out of duct tape and aluminum tape.

I never really understood what driving on hockey pucks meant till tonight

I don't use duct tape. That's why we use aluminum tape. and because it's conductive

Well, I just don't know how a home made tire would function without the use of duct tape in some capacity.

just took the really long way home from the GF's

fresh parking lots are very soothing to me with winter tires and yellow lights and the rumble of the exhaust on a snowy evening.

Just got home from Chux's place. Only about a 15 minute drive but unplowed for about 90% of it. There must be a good 6-7" out here. The all seasons on my dad Impreza do pretty well, although I almost didnt make it up the little hill on our road. I was sideways the whole way up it.

I REALLY REALLY wish that I had my car all fixed up for this storm. This would have been a riot with new Hakkas and boost. I guess I will have to wait until the next big storm :-(. We had better get a lot more storms like this this winter.

It more a function of being able to keep your engine where it makes torque/power. Don't start with me Eli ;)

The beater wagon could really use a VLSD in the rear. That and it takes more of a flick to get the heavy butt of that thing to come around, and when it does, it wags the tail for longer.

Went out for a nice 2+ hour drive last night...all I dreamt about was drifting. Once I woke up all I could do was replay the evening. I'm in the spirit...c'mon snow...

Oh how I need to get out more often. Wasn't feeling the greatest last night so I stayed in. Still had to work today so I played a bit on my street near my house.

Just to figure out where the good parking lots are before next snow now...

I'm still really surprised how well your all-seasons handled! The new powerband is also very responsive and wide. Awesome car! Thanks again for swinging by.

The Forester was a beast today with the Blizzaks. I tried getting it stuck in 12-15" unplowed snow but it just wouldn't. Maybe tomorrow.

I really wish they wouldn't plow so fast, leave the back roads fun at least. It's so much fun driving around people who polish the road, I love my subaru with blazzaks so much.

I actually took the rally car out for a bit this morning. Almost got it stuck trying to drive through a 2 foot deep plow pile but the diffs and tires on this thing are pretty amazing

had some fun in the snow this morning in Fergus Falls, but then it got warm and melted... made for a bad drive to fargo though, went from wet roads to glare ice to glare ice with drifted snow, to a ton of unplowed snow... Also pretty bummed that my front driver side inner fender liner (between the wheel and bumper) got ripped off on the interstate and broke into pieces... I dont think it'd be good to play in the snow without one...

I've been having tons of fun the past two days here. I'm really impressed with my new diff too! Now if I only had some winter tires, lol.

This is the first winter for my brother's car and he can't get up the driveway. He didn't know that his Volvo has summer only tires on it (RE050A's, lol) and is now thinking that he should consider different tires for the winter time, haha.

Its been crazy today, with the super wet snow/slush making for a very interesting driving experience.

The roads right now are pretty awful in the southwest metro. Even with winter tires, traction was very limited on my way home from work. The slush under the snow is pretty ugly.

well there's enough snow and drifts up here (and the fact that our apt is lazy and doesn't plow and the city havent having time to get our side street plowed yet) to make it so i can't even go anywheres... I made it about 20ft outa my garage and pretty much burried my car, dug it out with a dust pan, and parked back in the garage... Sorry to say, but I think i'm getting an older Toyota pickup with some nice size tires next year for when the scoob cant go anywheres, lol

I wish I had a picture, but alas I don't. Last night/this morning when I was driving a friend home from my "Orphans Christmas" I came across a Chevy Avalanche that was completely stuck in a snow bank. The guy had spun out, driven up into a yard, and tried to keep driving out; but he got stuck when he ran into the snow bank on the other side that the plows had left.

This was after the temperatures dropped below freezing again, and everything had turned to ice.

Since I carry a tow strap around I stopped to lend a hand, and got him all the way out on the second pull. First one was just with the strap pulled taught to get a feel for the surface, then a good yank and out he came. My friend was shocked at the noise that came from my winter tires spinning on the ice though.

I just wanted to gloat. After all of the scoffing that I get for my little MY05 FXT, it pulled an Avalanche out with no trouble.

ice skating rink forsure its BAD. I had a nice huge chuck off ice break loose of the top of my car and slam down on my windshield scared the crap out of me.

That's awesome, I carry straps in hope of pulling some big truck out someday. Did you use the tow hook on the front of the car or the hooks in the back to pull him out?

I used the hook on the front of the Avalanche and the one on the rear of the Forester.

great conditions if you can find a lot that has been plowed once or twice.

the new snow on top is close to ideal with the ice underneath

there should be some secret footage floating around somewhere soon of the LOLti...
