heck yeah, I love them. duck stance with low backs ftw! ha! I have had to upgrade straps a couple times but other than that, they are still in great shape. They are in fact the lightest binding ever made, still to this day I believe. unfortunately they dont make decks w/ long enough hole patterns to fit the extended baseless binding, so when the time comes, i'll have to switch it all up and its going to be weird
burton blunt that i actually bought 2 winters ago and still have never rode since i blew my ACL out literally 1 week after i got it... gonna try boarding this year and hopefully the knee will hold up
I am going to use my knee brace when i go out I would recomend the same if its not too bulky.....I am not tooooo worried of my knee this year.
that is the plan, i'm going to try wrapping it then the brace and see if i still have decent mobility and movement... if not i'll try just the brace... hopefully it works cuz i really miss boarding
That's because it was. I had a Burton Ouija board that year and my riding friend was rocking one of those expensive Burton baseless setups (that he T-bolted to make for a wider stance, lol!). I was also the master of handrails that year, fyi.
WOW! I had a '94 Lime Green K2 JUJU 141. I had Liquid Baseless Halfpipe Bindings (with like 2 inch backs :biggrin and PL Halfpipe Boots. Man that was a sweet board!
Bohemia is fkn sickkk. you really have to go at the right time of the season and its amaaazing!! even on the way from houghton to bohemia through like pheonix MI there are natural true shoots and back country terrain ready to be shredded. this winter if i can find time between my job at whitecap mtn im gona be building biiig booters and wintercamping out there and im forsure buying a season pass to bohemia, 99 dollars only on dec.5th.. anywho, this is what im rocking, 07 forum youngblood and my ride street/jib board (pic is with my old car). lookin to score a 148ish rome artifact or skate bananaa editictar
I still have my Craig Kelly Slopestyle 171, circa 1990, hanging on the wall in the garage! Based on your avatar, you should know that board.
^^ WOW, I'd love to get my hands on that. Oh yeah, I know the board.(obviously) Craig Kelly FTW. I'm surprised it took a minute for people to notice my avatar.
After missing all last year from being broke and not having bindings I plan to make it out a bunch this year. I'll be riding the same Palmer honey circle with technine Pro series? (circa '06, brand new left overs for $40) bindings and 32 boots. Yeah my ****s low rent, but so are my skills. lol. Last time I boarded was in colorado, wish I could go back soon.
early season i will. but we have instructor snowboard training on friday nights starting mid season (jumps, moguls, carving, rails... etc) it is cool. free lessons from some good riders. plus the bar crawl that follows.
^^ awesome good to know, I try and go almost everyfriday night as well. no doubt that its a great time to have a few than do it up.
Come on TonyM... That doesn't impress me, if you want to impress me find and use for your Avatar the "no top sheet graphics" Craig Kelly Burton board that Kelly rode while he was in the middle of a court ruling not to ride a Burton board when he was being sued by Simms for breach of contract. J/K... The Craig Kelly Air Avatar was very well received the first time I saw you using it.
ha! my buddy had that exact same bourd back in the day! with like a 12" stance, 0 in back and like 45 in front!lol
1st turns in Silverton, CO already. this video was from the 5th :yumyum: http://silvertonbackcountry.blogspot.com/
I'm usually on top of the colorado/intermountain west season as that's all i think of when it comes to snowboarding. my buddies are already planning a early feb 10-day trip...i hope i get to go this year. last year was the first in many seasons that i missed an epic storm chasing trip out west
OOh WOW. that sure tickled my fancy! I would love to be there right about now. The short little snow we had today got me wanting to strap up and ride.
That place RULES. The best part about it is getting wasted on keg beer at 10k feet in their yurt after riding all day.
27 days until Breck opens. this was posted on Big Sky's website yesterday. Today's Word: Whoa, what an early winter, receiving snow since late September. Big Sky is scheduled to open on November 26th, Thanksgiving Day. For the safety of you and our staff, Big Sky prohibits any winter mountain recreational activites prior to the official opening day including skiing, snowboarding, hiking, snowmobiling and snowshoeing.
buddy just sent me this picture from his deck...he lives in fairplay (the real south park) Colorado:biggrin:
if i make it out this year it will be on my old Burton Factory Prime 6.2. marginally old school asym board with hard boots and plate bindings. i dont like getting air, i like to carve.
Most of my new goodies came in from Ride last week. 154 Society which is my Pipe board, 151 DH2 will be my new park board since my old dh finally broke. Then the CAD Bindings, not sure how these will work out but soon I'll know.
^^the Ride CAD bindings? NIOCE!!!! Good for the park/slopestyle. I like your selection of boards too. Both are great boards....I'm interested to see the reviews after one full season on the DH with the new lowrise rockers...great idea
Eggroll you will love the BOA system on the boots. I got some late season last year and they are the best thing to have when you are teaching lessons or riding all day. BOA system FTW! The wife just picked up the K2 Autos for this year. The new K2 flip (i think) board and some new boots. I love proform and being best frinds with the local K2 rep.... all new, all @ 60% off.
Fobia ordered the whole setup for me last year but they ran out of my size in the board I wanted, so I got the newest and latest of everything this year! I absolutely love the boots! He does too, because now he won't have to yell at me to hurry up hehe.
the best part is that you can have them loose when you go up the chair lift or walk around. then when you want to ride just tighten them up and ride. it all takes about 10 seconds to do. i don't know if i will ever go back to laces.
Yeah, he got a new pair of Rome boots with laces, I was confused why he went from boa to laces but his new ones have locks on the notches so when you tighten the laces they don't slip out while you're lacing up.
Bee, I have a bunch of Rome stickers I'll give you next time I see you. That is, if you would like them! They were my account when I worked for an IT company. So they sent me a bunch of stuff.
any one looking for rome stuff i can get good prices. decks. 200-240. boots 80-100. bindings i don't recall how much off hand. trying to get a list of every thing in stock and will try post it
