hey i forgot to mention. Afton spent a few million on snow making equiptment this year. so there should be good snow out at the hill most of the year. last year they got a bunch of snow towers. this year they got a bunch of mobile snow guns. so the parks and other runs can have nice snow as well. they also redid all of the underground piping so they can run more water through the guns. it should be a good season with very little ice.
im good friends with the rome, holden, ipath rep. he has a house fll of product. reps have to buy the line of product from the company the rep for to show shops in there range what they have. once he is done showing he sells it all of at a good price. i thought i would help him out buy asking on mnsubau.

hey man my buddy owns FL Project. It is a local store, not a chain. If you go in there ask for Paul and tell him that you know Derek from the Subaru club. I can't say you will get stuff for free but he will treat you well. If you are in the north metro i would say go there. There is not another shop in the Twin Cities that puts as much into the sport. They hold comps, movie openings, local teams, and they do all of this for snowboarding, skateboarding and wakeboarding/wakeskating. Plus if they don't have what you want they will order it for you. I say invest your money in a store that puts it back into the sport. Sort of like the same reason everyone goes to MNTK Subaru.
I work at Pinewski's in Anoka. I'll get you hooked up with something for this year if you need. Depending on your size i have boots that start at like $75 (closeouts) or all the way up to $300. So let me know if you are interested. Matt

Discount card you say? Would anyone be interested in having a board/ski tune up bbq and keg day at my house before the season starts? I can do everything in my shop besides base grinding. Hot wax, edge tune/de-tuning and p-tex repairs are no problem. I was thinking somewhere around $20 per board that would include the above+beer. Dont have a board, $5 for beer. A.Y.C.D.
Tony, i do most of my own stuff... but if you need help and i am not working on the hill that day (pending snow) i am down to help out. let me know what your plans are. beer and grilling sounds good. plus i have wax, p-tex, pads, etc in my garage. Ok quick update. Wild is open for two days... then it is going to rain and all the snow will be gone. I am waiting for afton, but for those of you that have to pay to ride here is your chance to try out the new gear. Mack Dawg update: they no longer make movies! sad to say, but they are out of the game. i did get a different video by someone who used to film for them. it is similar to "picture this" it is a good movie.
i know i was pissed. why after 20 years of the best snowboard movies ever... would you give up? well Tony i don't remember the name (i'll check when i get home). but the new "fake mack dawg" video is just as good as the real ones. it might be a different company but it was shot very similar.

Thanks Tony! Just let me know whenever you want to ride. I usually get out about 2 time/week or so. The girlfriend usually comes with on the weekends too if you have a girlfriend/wife that likes to ride.
Indeed I do. My wife and I both ride together most of the time. And I get out 2-3 times a week. sounds like we're in line with you 2. Derek (ofspunk7) and his wife rides as well.

I cant beleive Mack Dawg is no longer making vids. That is WEAK! I am new to this forum and I don't know anyone, I don't think, but my girlfriend and I go riding 1-2 times a week and we are always looking for more people to ride with. Anyhoo, I posted my setup already, (the old Type a with Technine baseless bindings), but I decided to get a new setup!Woot! Never Summer Revolver-R with Union Contact bindings. I cant wait to get out and try it. picked it up a Cal.:biggrin:

yeah, I'm trying to get better at rails also. I'm pretty basic when it comes to rails/box rails. I need to up the tech a bit this year, and whats up with all this jib craziness anyways? Did everyone forget about big ass kickers or half pipes? Cant even find a half pipe in the state anymore!
No pics right now but i have an 2006 158 burton custom with flow bindings. I also have an old palmer deck that could use some tlc and hasn't been ridden in a few years. Mike
We should all get togather once a week or every two weeks and ride, teach and practice Iam also looking to get better at rails and what not!
for everyone that wants to get better at park. Afton is doing something new this year. every weekend they are going to offer free park lessons. that is right, you don't have to buy anything. you don't have to rent or even buy a lesson. just free park lessons all year long. they will break them up by skill level and what you are trying to learn. since this is new this year i am not sure what times they will run... but i should start work next weekend... so i will post more when i know more.... but hey! free lessons on how to ride rails and take jumps correctly. as well if you want to learn how to snowboard. feel free to request me: Derek free lessons with every snowboard rental.
remember on rails to be as light as possible. People get screwed when the dont center themselves and dig their edges in. Thats when the carny happens. Um, you know we have a vendor's officer you'll need to set Afton up with if you keep pimping them right? lol, I kid, I kid!
