I recognize minnetonka highschool and a couple other locations in that vid. Is brady's last name solum?
poor brady...thats soo tragic what happened to him...i don't know him real well but i know his friend Harrison Smith extremely well
wait...what? something happened to brady solum? I only ask because I grew up right up the street from him and was friends with his older sister. Spent a lot of time with that kid goofing off and creating mischief in the neighborhood. What went down?
can't wait for my trip coming up on the 15th. My buddy that lives in fairplay told me today that he has 10ft+ drifts in his front yard. He's been snowed in 5 times since the new year. anyone else heading out west soon? Tom?
Mike & I have plane tickets to Denver....March 8-18. Wolf Creek has been getting pounded all week, fyi...
Chet, go lay by your dish and accept your new infraction you're going to receive for trolling...you don't even snowboard...gawd:hsugh: ...and I was at home
yeah, i get the daily dump emails. 25 inches yesterday alone. we usually stay at the pagosa springs hot springs resort, but probably won't this year since that side of the pass has been closed almost every major dump:eek4:
http://mfile.akamai.com/10250/mov/q...e_2007/New_Videos/TEST640x360-3000hi.1mov.mov I love the snowboard movies have high budgets like real movies now! This looks so amazing! I think I can say epic about it!
how long have I been riding? One day I will find the need to stop riding around on a collector's item.
Sweet, I totally remember that board. I had a Burton Twin from that same model year -- and one of my riding buddies got one of those crazy baseless bindings boards from Burton.
http://onneby.com/snowboard/ This might have been my favorite board of all time (link isn't mine but you get the idea).
yeah, I finally got rid of the teal and dark blue burton high backs. Put some Burton Mission's on. You can easily separate the newer boarders from us OG's by how they react. "dude that's a cool board, where did you get it" or "holy ****, is that a brushie?!?!?!?"
yeah, the san juan mountains of colorado are getting up to 20 inches tomorrow on top of an incredible year. I'm leaving for them on Friday! So excited!!!
We're holding out to make the call...taking our chances. It depends on the snow conditions later next week. telluride and wolf creek for sure, then talks of jetting up to UT or Jackson. Wherever the deep stuff is at
yup, just got off the phone with my buddy. he said the same thing. I called Silverton...they are booked next week. Oh well, Wolfie and telluride has a TON of steep and deep.
well i used to snowboard a lot, until i shattered my elbow pretty bad and now my parents wont let me go until i have my own insurance:emo:
OK, so here's some footage I took from just out of bounds where Jackson Hole has a gate entrance to Cody Bowl. This is technically JUST outside the official "in bounds" portion of the resort (meaning no blasting takes place). These people in the background are dropping in to "No Shadows" (maybe a 3500ft decent, 55 degree snow angle). This is nothing like ANY other resort I've ever been to, and I've been to most of the good ones. This is as close as it comes to Alaska back country. Avi conditions were not great that day, so we decided to steer clear. We entered Cody Bowl from the North side (Cody Peak to the South) and went down through Rock Springs Bowl. The people in the video probably have a 4-6 hour hike to get to where they are (snow shoes required). Fortunately the snow pack stayed stable for their decent. The footage is generally pretty boring, but just looking at the scope of the terrain makes my weep to go back. Can't wait until next year. http://www.jacksonhole.com/JacksonAssets/images/18/rendezvous_map.jpg http://www.jacksonhole.com/JacksonAssets/images/18/rendezvous_map.jpg
Exactly. My friend's Brushie finally gave up the ghost last year. It is now wall art. Being a tall big footer my personal favs were my original puke green Fat Bob and my 180cm K2 Eldorado. The latter absolutely ripped out West. I sold them both on eBay. FAIL.
Yeah 05 MR, Cody Bowl is nutz!!! I hiked it once and honestly thought of every excuse to turn around...it was stupid steep and scary. I just got back from the trip. Wow, just wow. The snow was very good. Out of the 6 days we spent snowboarding there was only one sunny day, the rest of the time it was snowing pretty hard. I'll get some pics up when I can.
^^Will do! Hope you guys are having a good time! Btw, the reflection of the photographer in your goggles looks kind of cool...also, the mount-uns.
you guys look like a bunch of tourists! Where's your starbucks? LOl kidding March can be a big snow month out there...Have fun! btw- here's the place I was trying to tell Tom about. cheap and closest to Wolf Creek http://www.wolfcreekranchco.com/index.php
dear god I'm out of shape, lolz. Mike & I are headed down to wolfie tomorrow and are hoping it begins dumping on Wednesday.
tomorrow? Wow, have fun!!!! If you have some extra dough stay at least one night on the Pagosa Springs side....and go to the Pagosa Hot Springs. You will love the hot springs pools. (all 13 of them) Also, make sure you hit knifes ridge area, Montezuma bowl (Alberta Peak). I'm so jealous. Make a carve for me!
We are there to ride, not do tourist things hahaha. We did a little hiking today @ Vail; some good turns were found in the trees. pray for snow!
Vail? you mean Vial? You Are tourists. Drive safe to wolf creek, those roads are littered with big game that love to jump out in front of the car...seriously, be careful.
