I'm on my first Subaru, and I've always thought that snow in Minnesota would be the ultimate reason to own one... I was right Here's mine today.. Merry xmas to me Lets see yours!
I'm on my first winter with a Subaru! I am in love, and this was my WRX this morning.. snow packed tires and all.
Took the 3point3 to Wyoming last night for Christmas celebrations with the in-laws. Some of the roads were unplowed out there ftw!
The last one with the animated falling snow is something Goole/Picasa does to snowy pictures. Aside from that, I took all of the photos with my camera mounted to a 20ft boom hanging off the cars and used a slow shutter speed to get the movement. In reality, the cars were in neutral, rolling down a hill at about 5 MPH.
Thanks. Nikon D300s with a Sigma 10-20mm. Since it was mostly still light out when I did the shoot, I stacked an ND filter with a polarizer. Here's another couple that I took with the rig recently:
Really nice! I just sold my D300 with my DX lenses. You know what that means! Here's a couple to add to the thread. Last winter..
Love the pictures guys, hoping for more snow in the coming weeks.. maybe we could do an impromptu meet in a parking lot somewhere
Bracketed 1 shot. -1, 0, +1 in Lightroom. 8 seconds at f/8, 200 ISO and 17mm. If you wanna meet up and do some shooting let me know!
Here are a couple of shots I took last year. I have not had the time for pictures during any snow this year.
This is on lake Minnetonka last weekend... Sorry I am not sure why my dropbox links aren't working as pictures...just shows an icon so here is link below. https://www.dropbox.com/s/7n1z08i1fh1y71l/20131227_165725.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/f5ak8bh4bc3q2b0/20131227_165719.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/uxwubt6sk3q0jzu/20131227_165702.jpg
Oh man I would have such a great one for you guys. I drove my car out onto a lake and to my surprise the snow was about a foot deeper than the middle of my wheels. Got completely stuck when I stopped. At one point there was air underneath my tires and the car was being held up by snow under the middle of it. Didn't take a picture because I'm going to let that memory die since I can barely live with the shame as-is. I was stuck for SEVERAL hours.
Had to snap a pic of my Rex while it's clean lol parked in my spot at the shop i work in. Never get to drive her with these stupid 12-13 hour shifts
If it makes you feel any better I saw a Chevy pickup in a similar situation out on the st. Croix today.
Oh, I was stuck for hours because only one of the trucks on the lake could make it out to my car. Was a very ****ty situation for everyone
Yea I felt bad passing by him but I think if I would have stopped I would have been doomed as well, there were several cars out there that seemed to be going nowhere fast
From tonight - taken with my cellphone. Need to bring my camera with me so I can get some actually decent pics some time
