right now it has tien springs. progress front and rear sways( uninstalled) cusco H brace and a cusco strut tower brace.
damn, these cars make me miss mine. buying fully built is the way to go lol, I lost like 8k when I sold mine
D-town isnt for the faint of heart. learn to be a **** before you go on there. i swear most of them are fanboys only about 3 of them actualy drift and the rest of them make the most retarded posts ever. Bryce (head of the site) should really start hitting that ban button cuz most of the kids are stupid. clubfr is the site if you really want to get into drifting. they are the ones who host the events in the midwest and the really good drifters are all on that site. goodluck with that bandwagon act and get used to being flamed just for asking simple questions.
I'm least worried about all of that, but I appreciate the information. I have an old friend from back in the days who is currently third in the region. Drifting is not new to me, just doing it with this type of car, besides I have the "Drift Bible" in my other hand if I need some help. LOL People have to understand that just because someone is asking a simple question does not mean they don't know, but rather they are interested in what you know. I'm no expert, but I play on in TV. lol
I am currently working with the seller of the Red 95 240sx w/the big Wilwood brakes. He wants to sell it to someone who will use the car for what it was intended for w/all the mod's he's already done with it. All he wants is some videos of it in action, so I think I'm that guy. If things go well I might get it by the end of Feburary. Get the suspension dialed in and start testing it in April and hit BIR in May. I just picked these up over the weeked. Yokohama Advan A032R 2 x 255/40-17 2 x 275/40-17. I also have a set of Hoosier Cups 245/40-17. I am looking at getting some Enkei RPF1's 17x10 F/R +18, but we are still waiting to hear back from the manufacture if these calipers will clear these wheels. Some canards in the front and a rear touring wing is in the near future if I can get the car dialed in this season. A Ksport handbrake will be going into the car as well once its in my hands since the seller removed it and installed a proportional valve. Looking forward to having some fun and learning to drive this car at our events. Hoping that going sideways will slow down the gray hair process. lol
I guess you can call this my journal: LOL Here's the latest, I sold my 02 WRX and 96 GSR (track car) last weekend. So I'm down to one Subaru-Forester. Just picked up a brand new 08 Toyota Prius for my wife, hoping this will save me some $$$ on gas as a commuter to and from work. (more gas $$$ for the track.) (Thnx to Readymix, Edmunds and a book from the library.) So the plan is to fly over to Seattle, WA at the end of this month inspect the car, test drive around some mountain roads, maybe even some state parks, tour Bruce Lee's grave, who knows, I'll be there for the weekend. And the seller has agreed to get the car dyno tuned with new 740cc injectors and EM before I get there. The car is currently at a body shop where it had some cosmetic work done. The seller is gracious enough to help me with the cost me, minus the transport from the sale price. I had initially planned on driving the car back to break in the new engine and transmission, but he is recommending not to do it to avoid road hazards. He is very interested in seeing his car in action so I dont blame him. If this had been the case I was looking to see if someone would be interested in flying with and driving back, and I would of course pay for the airfare. So I am looking to seeing this car finally in person and getting it to the track events. http://s56.photobucket.com/albums/g187/billylee0000/240/ (Huge thanks to Billylee) Enjoy! -Cheech
Well first I'd like to give thanks to my new friends in Seattle, WA. They have been very nice to me and have taken good care of me while I was there. Its nice to know there are still genuinely good people still around. So Friday afternoon I jumped on a NW flight to Seattle, WA where I was greeted by the seller who is now a good friend. Who picks me up at the airport with a Dodge Ram 1500 rental. After a short introduction he explains more in detail what had happened with the car which we had this conversation a few days before me flying out. He tells me the car is not running the same since it got back from the body shop and that some wires inside the wheel well had gotten worn out since the shop didn't secure the wire harness. So he had the car transported back to the shop that did the SR20 transplant. Long story short, I got to test drive the car and will have it shipped to MN in a week or two. http://www.xasperformance.com/ The shop will be in charge of getting the car dynoed and tuned with the 720cc injectors with EM and along with some other mis. items that need to be buttoned up before shipping it out. The goal is to have the car in great working order when it ends up in my hands so I can get it dialed in and he may stopby MN in Oct to catch a ride at BIR. One of my concerns about this car was the fact that the seller is +6ft tall and 240lb and that I wouldn't fit in the Sparco seat. I quickly found out I didn't have to get a new racing seat after all. My small frame fits this seat as if it was made in Asia. I got a ride in the shop owners speed machine and I'll tell you its plenty light especially when you got +400whp on a -2300lb car with a left driver's seat and 6piston brakes on 18" rims. Everytime I get into someone else's track car I can't seem to fit in their Takata Green 3" belts, I keep thinking I either need to get bigger or they need to make them belts smaller. Anyways these guys really know their stuff and do a great job with these cars. So while the car was being worked on, the seller showed me around town. We saw the Pike's harbor, some islands, some very expensive property on the island, some really nice tarmac rally roads on the island, downtown, Farmer's Market where the fly fish market is at, some beach front crusing roads where they train scuba divers, flooting bridges, and his parents garden in the backyard, there was some serious time and effort in putting it all together. His parents had this 14yr old pug who happens to be both blind and deaf, but I don't agree as everytime I looked at him he would stare back at me. Well during the whole time I was there I was treated as his guess and he basicaly paid for all my meals, including sushi before I left for home. I'll have to attach some pictures when I get home. I got some new friends in Seattle, WA and Wrangle, AK. Alaska has been on my list for vacation sites and now I have friends there to go visit.
Only if you make be the beneficiary of you life insurance. minimum $200k. LOL Of course you can, when it gets here we'll still need to do some data logging to make sure the car is happy with the MN weather and track conditions.
Pls attach pics of sushi :yumyum: I drove an Sti for the first time on Saturday, wow...the powa. LOL, I was un-fortunate enough to pull out of the parking lot right behind a police car, had to behave my self, and yes he did drive extra slow. But that 240SX looks like more of a beast.
Probably one of the worst things you could do to yourself is video tape yourself mess'n around on the streets. So there is no evidence of any of this happening, but I will say I know fast and I know superfast, but this car fits in the stupid fast catagory. Sorry I dont have any Sushi pictures, but the prices were at least two bucks cheaper than here and tasted fresher.
You guys are silly, the first picture is of the Xtreme Auto Salon's shop car. Its for sale and its way out of my price range, I can't afford to crash something like that. So I got something simular but not quite as pretty for much less, just as fast.
Hey that's my Prius, what's it doing out in Seattle, WA? There is actually a Taxi company that uses Toyota Prius. They must get good gas milage with all the hills. Just letting it glide down the hills.
Now thats some good looking squid :yumyum: among the other seafood stuffs. By chance Mushashi, do you go to any 240SX meets around the Owatonna area? I have a few friends who are into tuning their 240's, one goes by the name of The Culligan Man, hes a great guy! Culligan Man has a 240sx also, I forget the mods, but, its running around Owatonna area.
98 Legacy- I have not been in the Owatonna area for quite some time and it was not for cars, that was many years ago. Should I be? Its quite a drive from where I live. I have a friend in the Twincities I am going to see if I can hookup with and get some pointers. I'm in the process of getting some inexpensive 17" tires for practicing on the track. I have decent car control but if I want to be able to drift the carosel on the new short track at BIR I better start working. It will be just like the scene where Takumi went up against the Sil80, high speed drift around a blind turn. Okay thats some serious ezgeration. The car currently comes with 18x10.5 F/R 3 piece Wed wheels. I will be using Enkei RPF1 17x10 for attacking the track. The shop is estimating +350whp, I am looking for a rear GT wing and perhaps some front cannards for tuning.
I promise to let you guys know when it arrives at my door, yes it will be delievered to my door. I am pushing to get it here before May 16, I have to get it tech inspected at Orr's before I can drive it at BIR with BMW. I have a few friends at BMW that are excited to see this car on the track as well. I still have to get a Ksport handbrake and SS hose installed for E-brake drifts, otherwise we'll do the throttle lift, flick or flant drift and a few others. But first I gotta pump up my cahouna's, they have been smaller than normal.
Dang it. If I'd have known you were going to Seattle I'd have gotten you hooked up with some friends of mine. Could've gotten you up the Space Needle for free at the least, and I could've pointed you to some VERY good sushi places. And I agree, it does taste better out there. Those pics you took just made me homesick
Next time Brian I'll give you a call, I at least have friends there now. They provided me a place to stay and took care of my meals, I couldn't ask for more or any, but ended up very happy with the whole experience. Thnx
Well here is the latest as I know some of my friends here have been waiting just as eagarly beaverly as I have. Transport has been reordered and I'm just waiting for a call that someone will be picking it up soon. Here are some of the reasons why not to park a hungary track car. 1. Wheel bearing needed to be replaced. 2. Intake manifold gasket leak. 3. Power steering copper seal leak. 4. Glue windshield weather strip. 5. Reroute wire harness out of wheel well. 6. Fix rear seal tranny/r.diff due to SR20 transplant. 7. Fill rear seat bolt holes w/missing bolts. 8. Hammer driver side wheel well to clear 18x9 wheels during corning. 9. Oil change. 10. Replace Clutch. (pickle fork keeps falling out due to bearing) 11. Fix exhaust leak. 12. Replace injectors with RC740cc. 13. Install RS Anthorpy ECU 14. Dyno 280whp @ 13.5psi wg boost. 15. Aftermarket Inner/Outer tierod joint (buyers request/seller cost due to delay) 16. Reroute overflow tank to releave crank pressure. 17. Replace battery with drycell Optima Yellow top. These were items that needed to be addressed which caused the delayed, but the seller wanted to make sure the car was right for me before shipping it out. Boy was the transport company angry with me for having to reschedule, but that makes the two of us. But I knew I was getting taken cared of by the seller and the shop, who had done the initial work to begin with. I will also be receiving some fresh Alaskan seafood sometime the near future as part of my friendship with the seller. LOL We are calling this an adoption, so I hope I am able to come thru and learn this car quickly. I am hoping the car will be here before July 19 so it can be sorted out at DCTC, prior to BIR in Oct on the short track. I have tires waiting!
Ooh, can't wait to see this beast! Hopefully it will be delivered very soon. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
I feel like flying back to Seattle, WA and just driving it back. But thats plan B. Hopefully I'll hear from transport soon.
Often we wonder why our cars sometimes have a mind of its own when we can't seem to figure out why at times it just doesn't want to start or perform as it did just the other day. While some of us believe its a car with tempermental problems that has bugs that needs to be sorted and others believe that a car has a soul of their own. I have been fortunate to experience this car from its worst days due to poor rebuild practices to its best days as it dominated events at functions I have participated in. I will miss this car as it has brought much joy and pain, and thru it all I have gained trumendously. Its been a heck of a learning experience and most of it is due to alot of patiences from my family and myself. Its time to move forward to new and exciting adventures and start applying some of the knowledge on a different challenge. Its the end of one chapter and the start of another. I just receive a call from the transport company and they plan to pick up the car tomorrow at 3pm pst., they estimate I'll have it by next Tuesday. I will make an appointment to get the car aligned and get some datalogs going when it gets here to ensure its performance in MN weather. The car will arrive in ready to Touge mode. I am going to work with some friends on getting a front splitter with under carrage as one piece as well as a rear diffuser and a rear wind or lip on the trunk, I didnt want to say the word, but yeah kinda like the ones you'd find in Nascar. Than its off to R&D. So I can use some help from anyone willing and interested, nothing is for free, I'll be happy to exchange service for service, you teach me, I'll teach you and if thats not good enough, some green paper will be another option.
My new Red Head arrived this morning, its not a dream, its finally here. I just finished installing the front bumper, took her out for a quick spin after filling her up with some high octane. She will need a nice full body wash with lots of bubbles. I will start cleaning her out and setting her up. The car was raised and the bumper was removed to ensure she would clear the 6" limit from the transport company. So this weekend I will be spending some time with the new lady. Enjoy! Cheech Here is one with the Prius. And here is one with the Forester.
