It caused a bannin' last year. Rick-Rolls are frowned upon as there are people who view the webpage at work and the browser hijack compromises such people.
I posted the rick roll within 5 minutes of each other on two different forums. I met the ban hammer (for a week) on msnbr very shortly after i posted it there. Which is funny, because there were multiple threads on that forum with a rick roll included in them, and nothing was ever said about them not being allowed anymore. That place has really changed lately.
I must be out of the loop. What browser hijack? I guess I'm just not using a vulnerable browser. Hmmm...
Yes you are. The RickRoll used last year would resize your browser to 1/4 of your screen size and bounce it around the 4 corners of your screen so you couldn't catch it to close it. If you tried using task manager on the one in question, it would deliver you with pop-up messages displaying the lyrics. Each pop-up was a line of the song. The only way to stop it was to kill the process itself in Task Manager, but any other tabs in your browser would be nuked with it.
Its hard to explain. Basically you go to this website, and it blares a rick astley song, and the window jumps all over, and you cant close it without either using the task manager, or shutting your computer down.
