I got a spt intake w/heat shield for my 04 sti. Installed it and reset ecu. Car starts and idle fine. The only problem I have with it is everytime I take the car to redline my i/c spray light flashes on then turns off when I let off. Does this happen to anyone who has a spt intake on? What cause the i/c spray light to come on?

check the area around the filter, it could be rubbing on a relay or plug causing a short

That's odd, almost sounds like the jdm i/c spray switch is on your car....

with the shortram your intake temps are gonna be higher but that shouldn't affect your ic sprayer tho

The only thing that switch does is keep the contacts closed. The light in the dash is a low fluid level light... unless there's something I don't know?

The jdm switch can be set to spray at certain rpm's, not sure if the light flashes or not. Just a thought...

Not by itself. You need to have a boost pressure switch in the mix, too. I'm currently running a setup like this. No light but works great!

Yeah. I got the IC switch from them, boost switch from ebay. The JDM switch alone just keeps the contacts closed, like and on/off switch.

    Stock:

Using JDM switch and boost pressure switch:

You can also simply replace the stock switch with the JDM version above. Same effect but you don't retain the spray on demand use.

I love it. It helped quite a bit in the summer months. I've got mine set to turn on around 7PSI so I tend to go through a tank of water every week. Sometimes more.

Setup was easy, too. You can do it on the cheap with any 2-way switch if you don't want to get the JDM.

Just out of curiosity, what does your intercooler look like? Any hard water build up?

I only fill with distilled or deionized so there's no worries about that.
