Here's how much Bullwinkle improved my car. First, I grabbed his data from his '06 WRX stage 1 tune which was extremely similar. His were taken at 80 degree intake temp: Bullwinkle's '06 WRX TR Stage 1 Results Mods: Panel Filter Intake silencer delete And here are my results, with intake temp of 93 degrees, humidty at 80%: RexNEffect '07 WRX TR Stage 1 Results Mods: K&N panel filter Intake silencer delete Nate was thinking I started off with around 183 hp at the wheels, so this is a vast improvement. He also noted that my engine was liking the boost, even at that temp, which I can only assume is a good thing . And the link to Nate's original thread: http://mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29507 I'm still a noob, so please correct anything I termed wrong or whatever.
Looking good Brian! Yup, most stage 1 2.5L WRX's put down more torque and just a touch less power then stage 2 2.0L WRX's. The stock WRX muffler is really quite a restriction, however. I think Shibbs car with a good stage 1 and axleback put down around 245/215 on my road dyno and at RS motors. Biggest thing out of a stage 1 (especially on a 2.5L) is the low end torque.
Yup. Only mods were a fart can axleback (still 2.25") and a K&N drop-in. Best mods for the money ever.
