STi get's smoked by a Mazda Speed Protege! ;)

Werd. It just seemed to me nobody was giving them any credit. So I just added my experience seeing one race. I was impressed:hs:

Back in Eau Claire there was an orange MSP that I raced several times. He had a full tbe, cai, and five pounds in F&F stickers. Anyway, when my car was stock we were almost dead even. I'd usally get a car length on him going to second (fear of losing = powershifting). From a roll, with that POS stock map, he could pull a small gap that took till third to make up. After I went to Stage II it was no longer close.

But, I would say an MSP (stock or modified) can get the drop on a stock WRX or STI at low boost levels. Stock maps SUCK!

Responses like this are just childish. I know there are subies out there that will walk any ms3 or msp in the area. That said, I know of one MSP that will walk 95% of your members STI's.

I am happy you guys have members like Erik that have great cars. For the amount of money and work needed to get to his power levels I am very surpised there isn't more of them. I have the most powerfull Z33 car in the area...at least to my knowledge, and if I see a thread about a neon or mazda, or whatever doing well or smoking a Z car, I don't have guys saying well "no msp or ms3 in teh cities can beat Zivman. not gonna happen"

I would hope the owner of this car in question wouldn't be too proud to say it was him that ran this "silly" msp.

Oh, if Erik brings his car to the track, the MSP I am referring to will be more than willing to run him - not saying Erik's car wouldn't destroy him, because by all specs and numbers it should, just saying I would like to see Eric's car pull the 1/4 mile.

To clarify, I didn't smoke the Sti. We were dead even from a roll. First race I had a half car lead from the start and he never caught up. Second race he had me by a half car but I was gaining on him in 3rd gear. So to me we were very evenly matched. It was on hiway 7 west around the Christmas lake rd area. After the race he followed me to hiway 41 where I exited and he kept straight on hiway 7. Who is it? Anyways, for me this was exciting. I do understand the following:

1. Stock vs. stock I would get killed
2. From a dig I would get killed
3. Matched Mods for mods I would get killed
4. 1/4 mile I could maybe hit 13.8 with drag radials. Peter hit 13.6 at 10 to 11 PSI. So again I would get killed by an STI

My car is ~ 210 whp/210 TQ @ 9 psi. For a car that started out with 145 Whp I'm pumped as hell to stay with a 300 crank HP car. I thought I would get murdered.

Not before I replace my stock LSD with a welded one. My stock one has 47 K miles and could go any minute here and a couple launches at the track could mean a tow truck ride home. What do stock Sti's pull in the quarter mile? 13.5? I just wanna break 14 seconds if I ever get out to a track.
