What does that mean? A tech can see it on diagnostics, but it still wouldn't void the warranty?

If you are worried about your warranty, DON'T MODIFY YOUR CAR.

Well, that was my plan. Then they said on this thread that the dealership wouldn't know. So, it kind of changed my mind a little. Still sounds iffy. I'd rather not push my luck.

Ronnie says no, and SubyTek (a very smart technician at Morries) says they can read it. There are loop holes you just gotta play the game or be smarter than the man ;)

I could really care less, but you can see if a ECM has been reflashed. It was a government requirement in all 05 or newer cars in America. A tech would almost never check for this, unless a car came in for a fried ECM.

    flash

Ya thats what I thought. I don't see why a tech would hook up to the obd port when it came in for an oil change or brakes or something simple.
My point is when you come in for a regular service. There is nothing obvious that will void your warranty on the spot. This has been done on cars with manual boost controllers, hack wiring in the ecu, aftermarket exhaust system etc. Maybe not on Subie but its been done on the Evos.

About the reflash. How can you tell if its been reflashed by the dealer or aftermarket source? Can you also view the map? I know on the Evo X they only have a file name and nothing else to view. If its an update flash, they just flash in the update but have no idea whats in it.
