So on my way to school today I notice my car starts making a weird sound somwhat like an external waste gate. Or boost leak? It only appears right at 2k rpm. What could it be? The problem I found was the line to the boost solenoid broke at an adapter but could that one hose cause such a loud noise you could hear from the car? And is it ok to drive short distances w/o it? Being. It's my only car -_-'.
let me help you with your poll a) external wastegate b) boost leak c) needs more info d) all of the above e) none of the above f) b and c g) both b and c only if not a h) this is not how you make new threads
On a stock car, it's even more difficult to diagnose because nothing was done to it recently to help us narrow it down. I think maybe an air hose worked its way loose or cracked.

okay sorry i was at school while writing this. But its an 04 forester xt2.5 no mods oem everything auto. but i checked after class and one of the internal gates like was broken. it goes into a "T" and the one that connects to the WG and to this sensor was broken at the connector. i wouldnt think it would make that loud of a noise though. but after i went to auto zone and bought a new tiny hose it seemed to stop the noise. but they were out of the exact size so this one just barley holds but i just didnt want to drive home with it like that. so it should be ok now? but i plan to get a smaller hose so it fits better.
