I will demonstrate how to perform the service, including what to look for maintenance wise. The class is held in a garage, so please dress accordingly. The class is interactive and open for any questions regarding the topic of struts. Please bring money to chip in for pizza or something! ~Dan
Anytime a STI strut is off the car they should be regreased...both front and rear. The infamous rear clunk may go away for a while after being regreased. Good class Dan...very nice.
^no. The sti struts need to be repacked with new grease because they are an inverted design... gravity pulls grease to the bottom of the housing and grime gets pulled into the housing via the piston leaving you with dirty grease and an under greased strut.
ohhh, will see if i can clear my schedule for this. i've had the assemblies out but never taken assemblies apart.-would like to learn how to do this safely. Scotty, are you attending? if i can make it you can see your old car up and running again...
That is a good idea, but we probably won't have time... we'll see I guess. PM replied. BTW, the garage is relatively clean, but the door usually stays open, so it may get hot in there. Shorts are recommended. ~Dan
Hmmm... we'll have to see. Definitely needs to warm up some more. It's pretty cool in the garage, even when it's 60 degrees out. ~Dan
Dan, we can always conduct the class at my house for a few select people if you want to put one one....
Great! Thank you for the offer! We'll have to see who's car is a good candidate for the next class. ~Dan
