Return of the Impreza 2.5 RS

So ........ on Friday I got to pick up my Subaru from Morries!!! YAY!!!

Photos may follow, if I find time.

The body shop in Long Lake did an AMAZING job on the exterior. I'm blown away by how well they were able to restore the rear panel, and everything else looks great, too. The only difference I can see in the paint from hood to front quarter panel is that the paint on the panel looks a tad brighter up close, but I'd say they matched it wonderfully.

Only a couple of minor gripes with their work: The Alpine cross-over for the component Type-R's in the door used to be glued to the inside of the door, but after the repair they left it hanging loose, dangling from the speaker wires inside the door (you can hear it bounce around when you open and shut the door). Also, the spade connector for the speaker in the bottom of the door was off and I had to take the door apart the minute I got it home to see why the speaker wasn't working.

That brings me to my one more serious gripe with the job. The component speaker in the bottom of the door was damaged. The center of the cone was dented in (and it seems highly unlikely that the damage occurred in the accident - and even if it did they should've let the insurance guy know).

I mean, really guys? You put a damaged speaker back in the door and didn't tell anyone. Bad form. I don't so much mind going in to hook the speaker back up and glue my crossover down, but the damaged speaker thing is really kind of annoying.

But honestly, I think the body work is excellent. If anyone from the shop is reading this I thank you all very much for the work you did on my ride. Love it! Thanks for restoring it!!

Good to hear it is back on the road. You can complain about the speaker, they may cough some money up for a set.

    Bump for update.

They only just finally now came to the decision about fault.

The other driver's insurance company contested and the whole thing was sent to arbitration.

    Verdict:

The accident was 100% the other driver's fault. I am getting every last penny of my $1,000 deductible back!
