I'll see what I can do Bill! The last time I stayed and hung out with my fam. I don't think anyone else was down to stay last time. I will start all the other necessary threads when the time is right.
It could be alot of fun at the right place, with the right equipment, and the right people. Although, it should be warm enough out to get by with only a sleeping bag. +camping is t3h ch3ap!!
well the drive there was fun. but at the end of the day. i just wanted to be home.. and that 3 hour drive made me pissy
Count me as a definite maybe - depending on dates. My activities vote (not that they mean much - Suby nooby but..) stuff listed last year with a couple more 'explorations' of the local roads. There have got to be some nice 2 - 3 hour routes around there:yumyum: Including one Sunday morning, which would make a good excuse to stay over saturday night... just my 2c
just a sleeping bag eh..sounds interesting... i would make a weekend of it btw..i dont want to drive 2.5 hours then 2.5 hours home in one day..uke: much rather do this
Man, I am still pretty new to the forum and after reading this thread and the ice race thread, I'm starting to think you guys really like to drink and party!:nana::rockwoot: :naughty:
^^^^ This is true... Duluth cruise FTW!!! looking forward to La Crosse!!! If fobia is involved there will always be a good laugh or two.
not even just duluth or the ice races...fun runs, firestone, ect... we are not some boring sit down group at all.
You know what else is in October? The Rally America stop in the U.P. Hoten...Houghton...err whatever...its a fun time.
make sure you take that day off well in advance, because you won't want to be asked to work that weekend.
This run sounds amazing. I'll be in on this for sure pending date/s. Got another Subie owner not on the forum that would be in too. So the gas stations cant handle us huh? What stations do they have and how many miles is it to get there. I can get about 300 or so per tank. Will there be a scheduled stop?
I am glad to see you guys are thinking about La Crosse for the cruise again this year! I know it was a really good time last year and Josh and I did a lot of work mostly Josh to make it a fun day for everyone. I thought last year that a few people were complaining about the drive so I really didn't think you would be down for coming to lax again, but really its perfect place. The shelter can hold everyones cars rain or shine so then we all don't get rained out. I really agree with everyone on a softball game or kickball game WRX vs. ALL! Again Josh if there is anything I can do for you this year to help out let me know. We have a few more Subaru guys around here to add to the numbers!
This event was the first one I ever attended! I had a ton of fun! I would love to have both subies attend for the second one! I liked where we met and gathered! This was so much fun I'm excited for the second cruise! I think last year kick ball was mentioned.. I think that sounds good!
an attempt at getting back on topic. I'd like to come this year....LaCrosse is a long drive (blah blah...I bet I have the least comfortable freeway car in the club.....so I get to gripe  ), but with the Duluth trip, it is our turn to travel. I would like to camp, but Sarah and I might go out of our way to be in a different campground than the others..... I'm also going to invite the Ultimate Subaru guys up. at MW3 (3rd annual Midwest meet in Iowa), I think we had 21 cars, and all but a few were EA-series, most of them lifted. would make for a sweet addition to the scoops and wings showing up from this crowd.
+1 for a wider varitey of cars there. are you going to be staying in a "quiet campground" or a "party campground" lol.. had to
I think this cruise has all the potential to be over 100 Subaru's, I also totally agree with Chux. Although I would choose the "party" campsite I feel to get away from what happened at the ice races there should be two campsites in all fairness. We all get along for the most part during the day from what I have seen, its when night falls that I hear about all the drama. Josh make this happen it is really starting to sound like a great time!
There are plenty of camp grounds around here for everyone. They are all a pretty decent price and some are so big where you wouldn't even have to see the other people if you didn't want to. Goose Island I think is the best and it is right on the river. There is also Blue Bird and I think you can camp at veterans park (Cept there is speed bumps that most lowered cars would be a no go!) If any one has any questions about the area let me know and I will try to help answer or find someone to answer it for you!
also remember most campgrounds have a fairly low tolerance to drunken fools... besides I think that even if the antics up North have upset the forum, most o=f the party guys from the Ice Races I believe are smart enough not to do that stuff in a campground.. 1. Rich's place is secluded and private and teh owner is one of the main culprits.. ha ha
not too mention if they weren't more self controlled on this cruise it would only serve to Kill the perception of mnsubaru being a responsible club of car enthusiasts and re-enforce what most people would think seeing a group of sporty cars driving around... this could really either set the club up or tear it down... keep that in focus with all this... Josh put a lot of effort into last years FIRST cruise and it was a total success, and 1 reason was people behaved themselves...
not in the slightest. I'm not just talking about suspension (although generic coilover sleeves on stock shocks certainly doesn't help), I'm talking about the thin sheetmetal and lack of insulation by design (why it's so light...), failing weatherstripping, weak heat, non-existant A/C, no working cruise and leaky exhaust. it's extremely noisy, and never a comfortable temperature. if any of the USMB guys come, we'll definitely be getting some space far away from the others. pretty mellow group (and about twice the age of virtually all the members here).....and I tend to have more fun with them, just cooking some brats, sitting around the fire telling a few jokes, and then getting some rest. If Mick and his son Indy come, you have to get to bed early.....cause they're up early, and Indy's a noisy little kid  although Nate brings up a good point. this is a more public situation, and if people make the connection between us and MNSubaru, it sure would be nice to leave the best impression possible, and avoid reinforcing the stereotypes about car guys....
since it will be summer, and there were many many non subarus there last year, i will hopefully bring one of my mullet-mobiles
I would be happy to come sit with you guys and chill... I am afraid the infractions may become a reality at teh cruise and I may get a bruise.. ah ha
