Kind of off topic sorry, but
in my opinion, after the sun goes down, we are just a big group of people drinking and having a good time,or at least just having a good time. unless there is drunk driving (ice races aside), or my car is better than yours talk to anyone that dosent have a subaru, I feel as though it is impossible to say that any behavior other than stated above reflects mnsubaru as a group....... ever....

    just my 0.02

back on topic, I think camping would be FTW. cheap, possible free or damn cheap if we all go to 1 or 2 sites.

quiet sites would be a good idea for those of the people that have/want to wake up early in the am.
party site- has to be there or the quiet site wont work lol

sorry Tim but this highlights your lack of insight and wisdom... not to mention you JUST ALIENATED the other half of the club/forum whom dont drink etc..... so by what you are saying.. if you are with your friends and they rob a store... it doesnt reflect on you just cause you were there... right.. you go to jail too.. its called guilt by association...

and what the hell does that have to do with a CAR CLUB!?
    absolutely nothing
as long as, like I said nobody drives around drunk or sets themselves on fire, the club is fine.
I understand that driving like 150 on the highway swerving in and out is definately a reflection of our club, but being middle aged humans is NOT.

its called an analogy... or comparison to highlight a point.. you were saying that actions like at the ice races are the norm for 'this club' after dark.. in fact it isn't the norm... and if that was teh norm and it was happening at an event that was held in public places then it represents the club... even the stuff up north reflects teh club... good or bad... agree or dont agree.. but it is obvious that it affects the club in one way or another... hence the reactions lately over things...

what does it have to do with the car club.. let's say we do teh cruise.. we stay at a campground and yourself gets poo-face drunk adn starts letting of fireworks and yelling and carrying on... guess what.. it gets associated with teh whole club.. everyone else whom wasnt involved, but seeing as it made the local news last time we went how would you think it would be reflected in this instance??? oh you are correct it wouldn't reflect ont eh club would it... is that a better analogy??? ie example

and I aint middle age but I have common sense .. sorry if that is beyond your grasp or understanding... I have been around young dumb full of c-m guys like you before and when they did something stupid everyone around was run down by the cops, just for being associated or for being in the general vicinity...

Is there a way the admins can form a "flame-away-pissing-contest-because-we-are-crybabies" forum?

I understand that there is some drama stemming from the now infamous ice-races, or maybe some other assorted "my team is better than your team" type crap. While out with a friend (also on this forum) last week, I met Fuji and was quite impressed with the maturity (albeit a bit ADD laden) he showed to a scooby n00b. After meeting him, I became a member of this forum, and mostly been sitting and reading. From the view of a newbie to the group, I find all of this insipid banter encourages me to find somewhere else to ask my questions and offer my limited answers. By no means am I a thin-skinned individual, but I know there are people that are not so difficult to offend. Seriously people, get off your high horses, and start acting like adults.

    /rant

I am up for the event, and I will even bring the wife's scooby. There is no reason to drive the Mini or MGB that far for a BBQ. Camping sounds great, as well as kick-ball. I know I will have the bachi ball set just in case! +1 Bugeye

Now... let's see if the 5spd swap is done in time

    ***O.k., quick run down.***

IF we camp in La Crosse and people decide to have a few drinks while doing so, keep in mind that the local police department CAN and most likely WILL be contacted by the owner or another guest of the campgrounds.

We do not want any negative publicity from our events. So please, if you do drink, just keep yourself under control. We all know our limits with alcohol. No need to get trashed and wake up in your vomit...do that Friday night before the trip!

Now, as far as a date. Let's plan on this, Saturday June 14th. It is about the same exact time we did it last year. This is NOT confirmed! I will have to check with the campgrounds, parks and recs., and the catering service to see if this date would be available to us...if so, I'll lock the date in. But as for now, consider this date the weekend of the cruise. Thanks-Josh.

Couldn't be more Wrong. The group is from MNSubaru, the group's behavior reflects on the group. PERIOD. Is it really that difficult for you to have fun without getting as drunk as humanly possible? Trust me, I enjoy that as much as most, but I enjoy having fun other ways too......and I prefer to remember the fun I had, and not be sick as a result.

AFAIK, the 14th will work for me. that's a possible weekend (one of 4 this summer...) for a large family get together, so if there's a conflict, that comes first.

the cruise for me is a fun FAMILY event.... which means if there was an overnight action then my family owuld be there.. but because off some immature kids, I would rather drive home and stay out of the club.. heck if that's that attitudes towards teh reputation we want to try to build as a club not just an online forum then I am walking away.. I wont even attend the event or any others

and no paintball... and probably not much this spring/summer due to house building.. you know ADULT things

oh, I'm entirely aware of that. that's why I have every intention of finding a different campground (not just site) if we come/stay. maybe when the time comes, I'll start another thread for those interested in quiet, family friendly camping.....

beyond that, would someone just pm me when there's relevant information to be seen, I'm tired of skimming over pages of junk just to see there's been no upgrades or relevant posts......

    Interest?

Last year we discussed possibly doing magnets for each year of the cruise.

This would be a somewhat small magnet(2'' x 6'') that you could stick to the car for the cruise each year and store on your fridge while not in use.

These would be "year specific", so after many years of cruises, you could maybe cover your whole car? lol.

Anyways, I'm thinking a fairly simple design, such as...The mnsubaru logo(same as stickers) with 08LaXcruise on it. Probably one color for simplicity. I haven't researched price or anything on these yet, so this is just to "gauge interest."

    ...discuss.

so the thread does not have to many topics, I would think about a seperate thread for this.

but I would buy 1 or 2 depending on cost.

PM being sent in a few min

Instead of a magnet I'd almost prefer a small decal (like what club fr does for their drift days). then again i'm a ricer

or we should at least be able to place wings, scoops, and mudflaps on them
