oh but what if the RS is going? give someone else a chance for most loud and obnoxious .. ah who am I kidding? there is no other that fits that bill
Just had to pimp Brent a little. I stopped for a few minutes at the LaCrosse event last summer. There was some nice stuff there. And, don't worry when its time to play, its just an ...... um ..... golf.
yes very much so. all vws are like stupid little pudgy fat kids running around the road making the best drivers look bad because there slowness has become so bad its starting to seep into the left lane. bad vw go to your room! yea a 4 door power house or what? a little vr6 turbo or a lil 1.8t with a ko4?
All VWs are slow, they're much safer that way. We wouldn't want to be getting into trouble now, would we? The car is a fundamentally stock R32. Not crazy fast but still fun.
OLDDOG get that car back in the garage! there is still snow on the ground what do you think you are awd??? lol
tangled i know this is a ways away but would you like me to hook up the event with a crapload of hamburger??? i talked to my boss at work and they said they'd be willin to give us some burger for the event when the time comes just figure i'd offer
i would love to come bring another bugeye to the show. i'll probably have some friends ride along, so hope you guys dont mind a few 18 year olds.
can someone pm the the official rundown on WTF's going on this summer. with all these posts its kind of hard to keep track of the trues and the :bs:

Resurrecting the thread. I live in the area and may be able to provide some help with stuff. I was thinking about after-hours stuff to do for those staying overnight, and there are some things to do beyond the downtown bar scene. A few items that some of you might be interested in: - La Crosse Speedway, with NASCAR racing on the 5/8th mile paved oval. The schedule isn't yet posted but I can update later if you'd like. They have 4-6 classes that regularly race and the occasional bus race. AFAIK, there is racing every Saturday night starting maybe mid-May. It's located on HWY 16 in West Salem, 10 miles from Copeland Park. They also have drags sometimes on Friday nights, for anyone who wants to come down a day early. I'll try to get the schedule for that, as well. - La Crosse Loggers baseball, . Again, the schedule isn't yet posted. The field is part of Copeland Park so it oughta be pretty easy to find. Edit: The schedule IS up but hard to find. They play at Copeland Park on the 7th, 7:05pm - Madison will be in town for that night. After a hard game of kickball, walk over to the field and watch the semi-semi-semi-pros knock the ball around! - Granddad Bluff was mentioned early on. I should tell you that the usual route up to the bluff, Bliss Road, was washed out by heavy rains and is currently closed awaiting repair (it won't be done before the cruise). There are other routes, of course, but not nearly as short as Bliss Road. OTOH, those other routes give you a chance to experience some of the nice driving and scenery in the area. If you need maps/directions, let me know. Shedding a tear for Bliss - that was a fun stretch. :emo: - TONS of great driving in the area. Some are well-used highways, others are county roads tucked away in places you'll never find without turning off the GPS. If anyone wants my 'hit list', let me know. The stuff I know is mostly east and north of La Crosse. - On the MN side, Great River Bluffs State Park can provide some nice photography and light hiking on groomed trails. It's located off I-90, exit 266, roughly 18 miles from Copeland. Fantastic views overlooking the Mississippi. I'll post up more as I think of them. Again, let me know if you want, maps, directions, whatever.
Thanks Dan! And welcome to the forum! I appreciate you stepping up and providing us with your knowledge of the area. If you are bored and get a chance, you could check around with the local campgrounds for us. I'm still not exactly sure which campgrounds to use for Saturday night.
I can do that. There's a large one at Veteran's Park just outside of West Salem, 1/2 mile from the track. There might also be camping at Lake Neshonoc, on the other side of West Salem. I'll look into those and some others.
