I hadn't seen the rule changes.
Looks like a bunch of PA cars will be moving to M4 due to the new rules about catalytic converters.

Depending on why the oil is getting consumed, just a worn engine can be remedied via stepping to a higher hot viscosity. For example, if you run 5w30, you can go to 5w40 and halve the consumption. For a comparison, my old, blue Forester will consume a quart of oil running 5w30 during a single rally-x event, entire quart burned up. 5w40 is significantly less at about half that rate. I've been running Eneos 0w50 in the thing for a little over a year now. Consumption is very low, enough where I can stay within 6 quarts during a regular change interval even with a couple rally-x/auto-x weekends. It certainly isn't a fix for wear or if something's broken, but it can be a good enough band-aid to let the car run happily for quite some time. Again what works will depend on what's wrong in the first place.

This will be the first event with my FXT. It should be interesting. If anybody wants to co-drive the new car with me, I will have an open seat.

    So...where's this form thingy?

Thanks for the info! Sheen and i have been dicussing different oil weights and how it may benefit from it. The new block has about 20k on it now. There was quite a bit of blow by in the intercooler when we took it off. Zero leaks tho. So it appears to be consuming it through the intercooler and in the throttle body. Definitely going to look into different weights and trying that tho since the motor is technically just finally broken in.;)

I'm surprised by a new engine though. Tolerances should be good, so consumption should be minimal. Are there other issues like the turbo?

Doesn't appear to be any. We logged it and it was running a little rich, but other than that, nothing. Just checked the oil and it was a quart low after 950-ish miles, which i was a bit worried about. Unplugged the fuel pump module in the trunk and cranked the ignition...turned over fine and everything "mechanical" seems fine.

It's a 2010 2.5 STi block with 2.0 heads and a VF48 tuned at about 20psi. No issues with acceleration, boosting fine, and no oil smoke from the filler neck or the exhaust. Topped of the oil, gonna check it and keep a close eye on it over the next week or so.

I'll probably be there, but not competing. Might come take pics or just help out with timing/scoring.

Unless Boomer wants to share the Swift... So now that there are separate classes for FWD and RWD in Modified, does that mean that Dan and I are in the MF class? Does this mean that we're going to be dirty MF'ers after the events?

It will be nice to see you out there though. When are you going to get the Sentra out of the garage?

Sentra could, at least theoretically be there next weekend, but I was out of town all last week and I'm not going to spend every night this week for a rallycross (but will spend at least a few). It'll be on the road by the end of the month, at the next RallyCross, and on-stage at NT1.

I'm having a difficult time reading the first post, all the info is ghosted. I'll keep an eye out for the next one as that weekend I already have Community Ed Teen Driving School at MOA. I would really like to get to one of these, but will have co-drive or rent out a Raptor lol.

If you have the standard site "theme" (light) it's quite visisble. I think it's an issue if you have one of the "dark" themes. If the color tags were removed from the message it would be visible to everyone (it would use that theme's defaults).

Yeah, just switched to a dark theme and the test fades into the background pretty bad. It would be cool of the text would be smart enough to auto-inverse, but I think might just be a theme setting. For example with the dark theme our normal writing is light for contrast. However, whatever text was used for the main post isn't this normal text, so it stays just the same as it was and blends heavily into the dark theme background color. Flip it to light theme and it'll be dark gray text on nearly white background rather than dark gray text on slightly less dark gray background.

Just getting ready to sign up, but started reading the new rules... Is it OK to run Catless in MA? I doesnt specify under the rules, it just says as "Rally Prepared" which requires a cat.

22 entries, and I know of at least 2 more people who didn't register yet, should be a good time if there's no lightning. There's going to be a good battle in MA, a lot of really good drivers.
