And MF is going to be a lot of fun too. Some very fast drivers in that group (and yes, I'll be in it as well, even though I'm not on the entry list online).

I was just at the site. Doesn't look too wet. If the rain holds off it should tack up.

Picking up some food for lunch, heading back in a few.

Great to see everyone yesterday. It's been a long time. As my results can attest to.

Should be there next month with the rally car.

i was throwing them under your car as you drove by anyone got an pics?

Oh and for everyone that didn't show up because you were scared of the rain sux to be you... was a great day for rally! I don't know if we will be able to get better track conditions all year, just the right amount of wet to keep the dust to 0 but enough traction to get some good speeds and fast fun runs!

The first run group got some pretty soggy conditions but it sure dried out in a hurry. Great event Tim. I know Dave and I were grinning all day.

yea i was looking at the posted times we were at a bit of a disadvantage being in the first group. I think our overall times would be a little more closer to the 2nd group if if would have dried up a bit earlier...

That first run set killed me. Wasn't until the 3rd set that I was able to get the inch layer of mud off of the tires.

There are some nice winter tire options for this kind of material. Mine self clear quite well (ExtremeWinterContact), and a friend of mine has used the WS-50 with great success, putting in some very quick times on a bone stock Civic on a muddy day. The only downside is that you still want something reasonably firm once you do reach grippier stuff, so tire selection can be a trade-off. For example I ran the LM-25 sport winter tires for a while. They were very good on the more packed dirt and gravel and offered a moderate advantage over something like the Winterforce on these surfaces. You sort of have to pick your weapon so to speak.

As for run order, yeah, we sort of threw you guys into the mess, but there is no direct competition between classes anyways. The worst thing that can happen is having to change the course several times mid set over the course of the day. That's kind of rare to happen though.

It was a great day of racing! Nice flowing course, Tim. Surprisingly, we got no rain all day. And, yeah, the first group were the steamrollers, packing everything down for our group. But, somebody's gotta be 1st.

I definitely enjoyed being in the "big-boy" class, as I think it pushed me to drive even harder. Placing 3rd after Mark and Brent is nothing to feel bad about. Especially since nothings been done to the good 'ole Aqua Thunder, unless you count the numerous decals to detract people's attention away from the rust and dents. :D
