What's up with the toonage.

Waiting for tax money to get to my account then the toonage will be on. a week or 2 at most.

 

Date is set April 25th hope my new oil pump gets here.

 

since it was warm out decided to clean her up and snap some pics, oil pump will arive friday. I can't wait to see what numbers this setup will make or where or what in my drivetrain will FAIL.

It probably won't fail on the dyno. Several hard launches will tell the tale.

 

Derek is already pricing me out building a SS leggy trans to hold 600hp.

 

I say start the trans fund now... I burnt up some clutches in my first 4EAT with half the power this setup will make. Definately going to be interesting. I say we start a betting board on when we think it will die, a spot costs between $1-5 and the winner gets a cool prize dipp supplies but the $ put in for the spots goes for his transmission fund just so we can see it really go this summer... Good luck dipp. My car was originally going to be a built auto with the 30r so I'm eagerly watching to see what happens and what you make for ponies. Let me know if I can come watch it get dyno'd I have the day off.

I'm just moving the problem to the axles when the trans holds my power.

 

I don't mind if anyone comes to see the dyno it's at RS motors the 25th.

She's been leakin oil from that pump for a while but that will be no more on friday.:biggrin:

Also, no pics with the fog light cover off and the engine running is a major fail.

got the new oil pump W/check valve today, will get some pics up later.

 

Sorry I don't know much about high efficiency oil pumps and things of that sort. But what would you want a check valve for in that application?

In hydraulics there are used so that oil goes through a certain orifice but not back through the same one using a ball and spring. I guess my question is where would that be needed on an automotive oil pump?

 

Its for the TURBO oil scavange pump when it pumps out of the turbo, threw the pump and then the 1 psi check valve, it can't come back threw the pump into the pan. So you had the right idea.

buttoning up a few things before next saturdays tune, got the new oil pump installed ( thanks Fobia ! ) . Which is much smaller quieter ( can't even hear it in the car, as the old one you could ) and put on the MFactory oil cooler ( thanks MCJT ) now its just waiting.

The headlights wouldnt be on if the car isnt on...

Big turbo's don't spin fast like everyone's stock locations stuff.

 

fail. ignition can be on without the engine running.



do it in relatively low light and turn the flash off. that way the shutter length will be fairly long and it'll blur the impeller.


or, have someone put it in gear and do a little brake boosting to make sure it's spinning good and fast. then go stand in front of the car and take a picture. yes.....good idea :biggrin:

Well it made 350whp & 400tq at 18 psi before the 4EAT started to slip kind of disapointing but I will make more when I get built tranny.

 

Ok, so build a tranny, then run 35 psi and actually be within the turbo's efficiency. Problem solved

 

When did you hit full boost? Dyno Graph?

 

^. Hit full power around 4200. Ron said the more he turned up the boost the faster it would spool. Should be a badass car when all said and done.
