Since these thread pop up pretty often and its the same fix... Here is how you fix it.

This Switch in the center of your steering column in front of your insterment cluster. Will look like this if you bumped it or turned it on.

That allows yours parking lamps to stay on when the keys are out of the vehicle.

    Flip that switch.

now what if I have the opposite problem and my parking lights will never come on. whether you press that switch or not, and even when the lights are on, the parking lights don't come on with them. it's weird...

Thanks for posting this thread. I've noticed my parking light switch flipped on after I take it to a full-service car wash sometimes, since they flip the switch unintentionally sometimes while they're wiping down the dash.

So... check it after car washes. :hsugh:

You know, that very thing happened to me. I had the car washed by a full service wash place, went to work...and as I was walking away from the car, I noticed the lights were on.....I was dumbfounded! I had to call the 1 800 number for subaru. God did I feel like an idiot! But to my defense, that is a dumb way to turn them on and off..(and out of view)..normally its on the headlight switch.

But it was in the first month that I owned the car...and over 5 years ago.

    Problem: Your car broke.

Solution: Sell your car because you are an idiot who has no idea what you are doing when it comes to modding. But hey, if it's modded, it must be better.....RIGHT?!?

    Driving lights.

I was at work last night, and upon returning to my 98' impreza, I discovered that my running lights were all on. Fortunately it started, despite sitting for 8hrs. When I got home, I just pulled the fuse for the night to make sure that I wouldn't run the battery down. At a glance, the fuse looked fine. Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas as to what might be going on?
I did notice that the front, driver-side driving light is out. Maybe this has something to do with it.

    Thanks,
    Paul

I think that one could argue whether it’s useful or not. I personally have never used them before.

When I want exterior marker lights but no interior light whatsoever. When I pull to the side of the road to snort coke off a hooker's ass and I don't want anyone to see what I am doing, and I don't want anyone to run into my car.
