Yeah they are at the dealership. You just unbolt the headers from the block and peel the old gasket off slide the new ones in and tighten but not to tight just till theay are snug...Also I don't think I need to tell you this but make sure the block is cold.

Do you want a freakin' cookie? I'm gonna hafta ask this one more time...WHY ARE YOU STILL DRIVING IT WITH ALL THESE ISSUES!? Its like having a broken arm and showing everyone its broken by flopping it around. I guess the WRX is getting inexpensive enough that any jackass can get one

wow this thread is a train wreck.

Demong, you have subaru technicians telling you how to fix your problem for $10 and you are ignoring them. If you cant unbolt your headers, put some gaskets in there and bolt them back on I have NO IDEA why you are looking for a zillion other less easy and stupid fixes.

congratulations, you took most of the remaining life off of your motor because you were too cheap to but some cheap gaskets and too thick headed to read good advice.

Might as well sell that car now because that engine is crap now.

I would never charge that much..maybe 95 though;)

demong, personally I'd replace the exhaust manifold with a stocker and throw some new oem gaskets in. do this asap! forget the POS manifold you have, take it off.

I just got some 2002 subaru wrx oem exhaust manifold gaskets today from the dealership. $50.00 cash.
    But anyways,
whats the science behind the heat wrap?
I got some heat wrap on the pipes?
    fyi,
bought it stage 2 from a friend,
but can anybody explain why I have fabricated heat wrap on the pipes?

I think you should be more concerned with the damage you have done to your block then the fancy-shmancy wrap on your exhaust.

If they are stock pipes, they should have shields on them instead of any wrap. If they are wrapped, it's because the shields were taken off. Wrap works, as long as it stays tight.

Now, before you blow your engine up, put the stock collectors and cross pipe on.

Don't apply anything to them. Just put them in the way they are.

Just fix the issue, before your engine decides to hate you!

they're some crappy headers which i told him to take off.
told him to get the stocker, toss it back on and call it a day.
