As I watch The Fast and The Furious (the original) on TV tonight, it made me think of a conversation I had on Monday with one of my 5th grade students. He knows that I am a car guy. On one of my old "about me" posters that we make as a staff each year, I have a photo of my old WRX that he always notices and asks about. He even was complimentary of the new FXT (although he was sufficiently bummed the WRX was gone...). I know his dad is a car guy too, and he often tells me about the projects that they work on together. Well Monday, he was extra happy. I started to chat with him during his work time, and he was saying that he was so happy because he just bought his first car. 11 years old. Bought his first car. I asked him what he got? If I remember correctly, he said it was a 5MT '91 240SX. He is so excited about what will come from it, and honestly, this kid is a genius when it comes to cars. It was so fun to see him so excited about a passion that I have seen grow over the past few years with him, and knowing that the projects are family driven (no pun intended) makes it even more special in my mind. Maybe someday I will be lucky enough to share the hobby with my own child(ren).
It's so fun to see the kids excited about cars! My 10yo wants my WRX for her first car....I said no, lol.
Just gotta start them young . That's really awesome to hear that other kids are developing the passion early on.
Like this? He stripped about every 10mm bolt on that bike with an impact lol. But at least it's making memories.
Yep, it's your old car! Thats the purple beast Emily and I bought to use for rally. I think my little guy had more fun than we did with it.
