I'm going to put up a last ditch thread in general discussion and hope the fact that we've only managed to get a dozen people out of our hundreds of active members is a mere matter of exposure. If not, I've pushed the time we have to commit to a final count out as far as I can and I'll have to call Tom and hope he doesn't flip out over not even being able to pull 20.

There is a very good chance this isn't going to happen due to non-participation.

Assuming we don't have the numbers I'm going to plead for another day and hope I can get some people on board at the Dyno Day tomorrow. No idea if that's going to work.

We still need to scrounge up a few takers but the last couple stragglers managed to get us enough wiggle room to prevent the event from being cancelled. Thanks folks, We are a go!

 

Menu details bump!

In addition to delicious, delicious meat candy, adults can expect the following with their meal:
- Baked Beans
- Deviled Egg Potato Salad
- A veggie (likely corn or green beans
- Oatmeal Peanut Butter Butterscotch Bars

The kids plate will be:
- Hot dogs
- Mac n' Cheese
- Carrots & dip
- Bars

We still need a couple people to sign up. Literally a couple. Just 2-3 will put us right where we need to be. That could be you!

We will meet in the parking lot directly to the right of the start of the route. It is the parking lot for the now-defunct Stillwater Zephyr Depot. It's also the last commercial building on the east side of main street heading north of of downtown Stillwater.

I'll put together a winter miser cruise another day.

 

We're at 14 adults and 2 kids. If you're on the fence please jump now.

 

Twin Cities -> Grantsburg route updated. It is now 100% tarmac. There is one section where I remember the road being a little rough but that shouldn't be a problem since this isn't a fun run. The tradeoff is no gnarly-ass dirt logging roads and more twisty signs.

I will be printing off a few copies of the google maps directions to hand out before we leave.

Also, I just got off the horn with Tom. He's looking forward to seeing us somewhere between 2:30-3:30. Also, he said he just went on a drive for himself today and the fall colors are awesome up there right now!!!

We can and still would like to accommodate a couple more folks. However, please do not just show up tomorrow and expect it to work out. Give me a heads up first to make sure everything is kosher. I'll be checking this thread by 8:30am tomorrow or so.

Also, also, Tom doesn't mind if we bring our own beverages since we're not technically in the establishment. Did I mention this is going to be an outdoor BBQ in absolutely perfect crystal clear weather?

Side note: Please bring your FRS radios. I'll include my cell on the directions I hand out but FRS will be the primary means of addressing/coordinating "in case 'ish" scenarios. Not to mention I haven't actually driven the second leg so it will be an exciting new adventure.
