ehhh... I dunno, do you have a preference? I'd like to go GMRS (15+) if everyone has radios capable of doing so. Otherwise lets call it 8-1? We'll make the call before we head out.

Just got back in. Awesome, awesome day for a cruise!

Huge thanks to Dean for hammering out all the gory details and to Chris for wrangling the Duluth crew for the first Duluth cruise I'm aware of that didn't involve a surprise offroad excursion. Also much gratitude to the last minute joiners who saved the event from getting scrubbed.

Hopefully you all enjoyed Tom's Big Butz BBQ hospitality as much as I did and we can make this particular route an annual event! I don't think I'll have to eat again until Monday...

Screw that instruction! That was ridiculous. Here's the turn that was missed:

    http://goo.gl/maps/fntSn

That road sign said intersection of Co Rd X and Dongola. Note that the current road is Co Rd X... and Co Hwy X. The route instruction said turn right onto Co Rd x (not possible according to the road sign) , and then "continue onto" Dongola in 400'. In hindsight I should have just stopped there because it didn't make any sense to give a "continue onto" instruction that requiring me to contradict a previous instruction for a turn right onto a non-existent road per the signage.

I just needed to know that was the intersection of Co Rd X and... uh... Co Rd X.

Just say turn right on Dongola, ass clowns. :banghead:

That's why I like to pre-run everything first. Were that a TSD rally and I put that in a route book I'd be hearing about how sh*#$y the instruction was for years. I won't miss it next time.

On the plus side... The Mrs. doesn't know it yet but that was her first session for being groomed as a road rally co-driver. I had her working from split/total mileages and marking short instructions for early calls. I may have tipped my hand when I asked her to give me instructions in mileage/direction/name format. Only a few more before I make her break out the calculator...

I just looked at the map... Either way was a good route... Rather then making that turn I would suggest cutting out the 0.5 miles of gravel... All so from my "go pro":

Also thank you EVERYONE who came out and to Pete and Chris for helping put this event together!!!

    Whistle Nutz I <3 U ;)

What road was that? Klarquist? I can't find the gravel on google maps and I know we were on course because we hit the mileage markers and street names bang on before and after. There aren't that many left hand turns off highways on the route and I vaguely recall lincoln being the next instruction.

Glad to hear it all worked out great! I've been severely absent from the site and didn't realize it was this last weekend. How was the food?
