Bumpage. Started and stopped at Hwy. 81 exit in Brooklyn Park. Start time: 7:34pm Lap time:1 hour 9 min. 4 sec. @63.5mph w/cruise control on. Stop time: 8:43.04pm Witness/co-pilot: Bob
The sport bike guys do this route sometimes (late at night) 170+mph...:fiddy: I bet they can do it in under 40min.
^^ Well I hope that nobody on this forum attempts to do 100+mph. I was originally under the impression that this was to attempt and post a time for the 'loop'. Not quickest times...otherwise, running with the cruise control on would be a bit pointless. I think that alot of people could make it under 40 minutes...in their cars, at the right time of day/night. But I will not be attempting it.
yeah i've been on the roads when those packs of sport bikes go by and it's freaking scary honestly. if you aren't paying attention to those behind you because you're going faster than everyone else and then ZIP ZIP ZIP they go flying by you on both sides and just make you jump. they're lucky more people don't swerve when they go by
it'd just be SO MUCH BETTER if everyone went on one side, then if people jump they'll go the other way - probably - hopefully - well who knows but it'd probably be better than splitting the car...
Can we get an AMEN for the thread revival? Summer rims will go on 4/1. It will be the opposite universe time attack! "Winner" buys a few bottles of middle of the road Malbec for deck-time embibement?
Only if you pick me up and let me ride NAVI. I'm down a bottle of Pinot Noir and watching Big Cats on HDTV.
If anyone does this, be careful on the northeast metro portion of 694 right around the mcknight overpass, before white bear avenue, heading west. The last few times I roll home from my parents house out there--on my way back to st.paul, there has been a cop with no lights on at all that you can barely see til its too late. He does the laser on you. The "L" goes nuts on my radar detector. The first time it happened there was not a soul on the road, and I was like, where the hell is this coming from--I just couldn't see anything.
its an area of the freeway with very few overhead lights...makes it very hard to see them under and near the bridges
You've obviously never done the One Lap before then. We hit the 54min run starting it at 1am I think. Subytek can confirm this since I don't remember if it was 1am or 12am. Eitherway, this is the witching hour.
Props to this thread... Anybody know the average speed and the highest speed reached for the quickest lap time?
I know this is THE time to do it, its just I work tomorrow. lol If someone can talk me into it, I'd be down, but I'm not really up for speeding too much. haha
For the 54min lap we averaged around 75mph. I wont disclose highest speed reached. I had all the info saved on my CAMP system, but during the motor swap last winter we lost the data because the battery was unplugged for 5 months.
I say lets get a few peeps to meet at midnight tomorrow. You 1st shift people can take afternoon naps first and be all rested and whatnot. I would say friday, but I will be drinking wine at a party and then going to a kegger party and will therefore be riding shotgun in the wife's jetta.
This is something I have always wanted to be a part of, and I have never done it - I do not count that one time with Pete as nobody was racing, everyone was in jason's car. SO.
Let's do this!!! I work from 1-10-ish, but I will check this thread when I get home. Shibbs, maybe you can gather a few people and get a general idea of where everyone is coming from and decide on a meeting place that is a compromise
once motorcycle season starts I could do it in about 35 minutes, its balls out the entire time though. those 494 straightaways are sweet but not cop friendly.
