Monday, 4/20 around 2 pm at the parking lot outside O'Reilly's in Champlin received a "Nice Wagon!" note on my car from Urabus, thanks!

Today, 35W northbound 2:45-3pm - Silver bug eye wagon, lowered, mud flaps, exhaust, really nice clean wagon! Grabbed a couple of pics!

I used to work back in that area too at Zero-Zone right by the cement place. There was @BroCo and his Silver STi, there was an 11' - 14' black WRX sedan, and a black STi same model year all back in that area, plus my black 13' WRX.

Saw a bunch of Subies this week.
06-07 WRX at Cub in Champlin. (We exchanged waves again later in the day)
15 WRX x 3 (WRB x2 and a black one at the pet place right off 169 and 12 by the river).
Saw a few bugeye's. Saw a couple FXT's. Very cool to see all of these out.

Loud silver Bugeye/Blob eye WRX Wagon right off of Carlson Parkway. You had another loud car in front of you, but I wasn't able to catch a glimpse.

The most important thing is that you're okay. Be glad you didn't get rammed on your side of the car. Like they say, you can replace cars, but you can't always replace people.

The far right WRB STi I have spotted on the Mendota Bridge a few times (east bound)!

Also, almost daily on 110 going the opposite direction of me (west bound in the AM and east bound in the PM) I see a white 11+ sedan with tint, a '15 WRB WRX with tint, HIDs, and mudflaps, and a guy that I used to see often in a WRB bugeye (super clean) now in a white GR STi hatch with gold wheels. I have tried spotting all of them before, but never figured out if they are on here.

BTW, the MY15 took my spot!

I saw a black 04-05 sedan with white rims in riverdale and was planning in going one way home but decided to get gas at another station that had 92 instead of 91 so I turned around and caught up to them as they were turning onto left onto coon creek blvd. And while working I had to go to the Osseo and Rogers store so on the way to the Rogers store from the Osseo store I saw a silver bugeye sedan with green rims and green mudflaps and the car sounded really good.

Thank you! I like the black emblems too, but they look a lot better from far away. I will be re-doing them again sometime in June, as I still didn't get it just right. The XT and Forester side keeps coming out well, but it's the "SUBARU" and "Symetrical AWD" badges that have caused grief... but for now, it's definitely manageable.

I did. Do people usually remove them to dip them and then put them back on? What is used for the adhesive?

When I did black emblems on my Mazda, I bought new emblems and had them painted with actual car paint. But idk why you couldn't continue dipping them on the car if it works for you

Are you using plastidip @JuStaWRX? Or are you using a off brand of plastidip or something else? I had pretty good luck with the plastidip the time I used it on my previous vehicle. It wasnt coming off at all like I thought it would, it stayed on pretty well but the main thing is to put at least 4-6 coats on it so that it looks decent. The main thing is to take the tape off when the paint is still a little wet so that the lines come out crisp and not all freyed. Ill be spraying my hood either tomorrow or this coming weekend with it and Ill post pics of it on here.

I am using name-brand Plasti-dip. I actually did two rounds of it because in the removal process, it kept on coming up off of the emblems and not breaking at the creases as expected. I tried both with heavy coats, and light coats, and was sure to come at it with different angling after the initial coat. I will try it again though. These little nit-picky things seem to be what drive me the craziest, and if it is not perfect, I hate to keep it on there. Maybe I was leaving it to dry too long?

Yea you prolly are leaving it dry too long, its not like regular paint where it takes like an hr to fully dry. This stuff takes only like 2-3 mins if its a normal coat, and you want to peel the tape off before it fully dries. Theres a youtube video that has the edging process deal which it does take a little bit to get completely right but they have all kinds of videos so Id say before you do another set watch a couple videos and see how theyre doing it first. But Id hit the edges of the emblems first and take the tape off then do the middle part of the emblems and make sure to have at least 4-6 light coats or like 2-3 heavier coats on there so that it doesnt get pulled up as easily. If you want to pm me and we can talk more about it there Id be fine with that so we arent taking up posts on here with plastidip stuff lol

It seems as if you've done it enough times to know that you want them black now, so ever thought of just painting them? If so, SEM makes a pretty good spray paint called automotive trim black. It dries flat black, and usually dries in a few minutes. Much thinner than plastidip so it'd probably be much easier to peel your tape line when finished.

    this or similar:

    http://www.amazon.com/3M-38583-Exte...43172&sr=8-2&keywords=3m+automotive+trim+tape

Try an adhesion promoter after cleaning the plastic with alcohol. Or just scuff them and paint them. If you go that route just put a tape line under the badges and mark the start/end of each letter on the masking tape. Makes lining them up much easier.
