The Official Tuesday Meets -- BOOM ISLAND

I feel that it's official to makes it own thread. With many whom agree that this location is a nice area for family, bike/hiking trails, wide open parking lot, easy access to the freeway, gas stations, many local bars, and a river front with occasional fairy boats cruising by. I've searched through the other thread and found that the information to this new location was way back on the 6th page which would be a PITA to search through for new members who'd like to attend these meets. With my attempt to make this official, fill free to correct, change, add as necessary.

Location: 724 Sibley St NE, Minneapolis, MN ‎
When: Every Tuesdays
Time: 6:00pm (May change as the days are getting darker.)

Game plans are usually to meet, greet, hangout, and usually head out to a local bar and end the night from there. Your more then welcome to attend, it's totally up to you and not required. Occasionally, someone would bring a grill to get some burgers or hot dogs going. Snacks are provided by whom ever could pitch in. Check back periodically to see what the game plan is for each week.

Can't find the information about Boom Island in the Quest to find a new Calhoun thread as easily.

 

Also, This may be a reopen for next year if need be. I figure I am WAYYYY too late to be posting this thread

I believe the quest to find a new calhoun thread had the info in the first post like we did with the tuesday winter meets. Then again it has been a while since I have seen that thread.

I am all for some sunshine for a change, yet I will miss tuesday nights trolling the mad hostess at OC.

I wouldn't mind going somewhere else. There are quite a few good options in the vicinity of boom island that would be a lot easier to defer to if weather goes to ****. Not just for today but future Tuesday meets.

 

Usually busy and a bit small but if its a small crowd Elsies is RIGHT there.

I like Broadway Pizza. Do they do buffet for dinner or is that just lunch?

 

Just lunch. They do have late night happy hour.

Spring Street has some of the best wings, great bloody Mary's, Mexican Tuesday ($1.25 tacos, $4.50 margaritas, $3.50 Mexican beer bottles), good happy hour specials (till 6:30 and then from 9-10pm)

New Bohemia has awesome sausages and a damn good beer selection

Whitey's has good food and drinks and a decent late happy hour

Elsie's has a late night happy hour

Pyscho Suzi's has late night happy hour on tiki drinks only Tuesdays

 

New Bohemia is my vote.

 

spring street is a solid choice too.


EDIT: due to the weather a small handful of us are planning on hitting up stouts.

 

I may stop by Stout's later.

For future meets, I agree with Curry, with a strong emphasis on the spots with big, FREE parking lots. Spring Street is awesome, usually plenty of parking too. I'd be down to check out Broadway pizza too.

Before this gets ugly, let's shoot for Stout's tonight and resume this discussion on the spot for next week later. Like, before Noon next Tuesday.

 

So it looks likes tomorrow evening is rain-free but we will see what tomorrow holds. Thoughts on back-up location if rain does rear its ugly head?
