s'ok, it ended up being kind of half-assed since I had never run the route in reverse and I once again neglected to account for the "wife and child in tow" scheduling tax.

We may just call that a "group pre-run" and try Best Steak House again. :)

Maybe we should just go with bi-annual and anything else is just extra

    Considering thread title change... ;)

I ended up having ALL of my weekends in May scheduled for me, most of them without my knowledge. We'll do something this month. With any luck it will be one of the first cruises with my restored ride. :)

Not so much yet. Not having a car kind of kills it for me. Hopefully that gets fixed next week.

I'm going to prerun a couple things today for a last minute fall colors cruise NEXT SATURDAY.

I could use a cruising buddy if anyone is interested today. It will be a jaunt down the MN side of the and back up the WI side of SE MN. A couple hours or so. Let me know if you see this in the next couple hours and you're interested!

I should probably mention there will be burgers and pie involved, at separate locations known for being spectacular at their respective goods... :uhhuh:

So yeah, this is going to be cool. After talking with the folks at Kings Burgers and managing to get to Stockholm Pies after they ran out of pie for the day, it is clear we'll need to make this an "early" departure.

I think I have the route locked in. I'll know for sure by end of day. My current thinking is we'll meet at the Walmart off 494/Concord at 10:15. Then we'll head to Miesville in a straight, boring shot down 61. We need to be to Kings Burgers by 11:00'ish or we're all screwed. Service is relatively quick, but they get HAMMERED for lunch and it doesn't let up until after dinner.

Plan on leaving Kings Burgers by 12:00. Then we're off through some twisty bits to Stockholm with an anticipated arrival at Stockholm pies around 1:20. By that time pie selection will already be limited. So there may be some hustling... and there will definitely be some twisty bits...

After that you can either make your way back up 35 or you can follow me through some more twisties while I work my way towards Wabasha and backup the MN side of the St. Croix, not using 61 as much as you expect... :)

Total route time to Stockholm is about 2 hours. Another 2 hours or so on the return trip if you choose to follow me. I'll probably have to stop at Pepin Heights orchard again because I have never in my life had an apple like the "SweeTango" apples I bought yesterday.

I'm going to run a little today to make sure the route changes work. I'll post reviews of the destinations later tonight.

Not a bad idea, maybe I'll do that day-of just before we leave. Neither place is particularly setup for nor tolerant of advance planning. Reservations aren't happening at Kings. Inside seating isn't happening at Stockholm Pie Company. Both are worth the hassle. :)

I'm going to start a new thread for "Fall Colors Cruise" later tonight or tomorrow with details. Here's the route, more or less. There will be some small changes to avoid surprise traffic around Red Wing, but this is pretty close:

I have some video converting at the moment. Wish I would have had the camera running for some of the other cruisers we saw. I stopped counting corvettes at 12. I only needed to count 1 ACR Viper, first time I've ever seen one in person. Also saw something I couldn't quite place. I'm guessing we all had the same general idea:

Thank you! That was bugging the piss out of me. It was like the Subaru Legacy of supercars. Could have been any of it's competitors depending on the viewing angle...

Point D is the intersection of 52/50 on the return trip. I figure people will split from there. I made it very comfortably on one tank of E85 with some detours along the way. I think there is a spot in Red Wing and I know for sure there's a spot in Wabasha for E85. You won't need them if you fill up at the Holiday by WalMart.

I know this road very, very well :) Glad we are finally hitting up this area, as it's my old stomping grounds.

And I actually spotted your car Pete at King's, surprised I didn't see ya inside. I was there with the rents and gf for some burgers after golf.

I'm def in for the cruise, and Sundays are good. For those on liquid corn, there are actually 2 E85 stations in Red Wing, Super America and the Kwik Trip on the north side of town.
