Dude I hope they yield the results you are looking for. I am sad to not put them in my car, but glad they are going to a good guy.
You will get a quick spool with your 2.5L on td05 turbo but not a lot of top end power. Where are you getting it tuned? I wonder how much power you will get with this set up. My guess 285whp/290tq @22psi on RS dyno and even less on DB dyno. Keep us posted and good luck with tune.
Oh, thank you Dave:woot: I actually tuned the boost down to 18 psi (from 20psi)for daily use, but it still pulls hard :biggrin:
Bullwinkle is doing the tune, and the top end will feel amazing compared to my TD04 I imagine. I am hoping for 300ish WHP and 320-330 wtq with the supporting mods that I have. We'll see what happens.
depends on the dyno. Those numbers are a bit high unless you're running meth or race gas. Either way it will be a HUGE difference from the snail of a turbo that you have now...the diffence will make you smile and probably lose sleep the first few nights...cause you'll want to drive it 24/7
You have 2.5L right? It will be a lot better than your td04 for sure. You are looking at good tuned stage 2 STI power with this turbo, maybe little more. Does Nate have td05-7cm as well?
I read that td05 are little hard to tune for lower boost application but once you go over 20psi it's fine. Correct me if I am wrong please.
Well, the smaller hotside does tend to creep on cars with catless exhaust. However, we'll hope the port job on Roon's turbo keeps his from giving us any problems.
Just picked up the turbo from Grimmspeed. She is about as Ported and Polished as its gonna get. Hope it helps! Btw, should I be concerned about this noise. Whenever the clutch is released a noise starts from the driver's side, and it sounds like I have water on one of my belts (I hope you know the noise I am talking about) only its constant and only when I am not pressing the clutch.
Here you go. Intake temps while tuning today were around 85. For comparison, stage 2 STI's typically do about 290 WTQ/275 WHP on this dyno in similar weather.

Nice numbers. What are you running for psi? How was the tuning prosess? It looks like you have pretty good torque in the mid range.
22.5 PSI peak, tapers to around 16 at redline. His torque feels great and is quite linear, but it is actually lower then I was expecting, although his topend is higher. This is almost certainly due to the P&P job on the turbo.
