Mmm yes, let the Outback abuse begin. Too bad i killed my Legacy SS, sounds like were gonna have a bunch of em running around now. Atleast Dan is putting one of mine to good use  Hope we can get more than 1 run in with that many people registered already...
remember folks..snow/rain in the forecast... so please everyone...use your summer tires with no tread...that will do the best
We can if people hustle to their cone picking duties! The two things that really slow us down are transitions between driving and course working and timing equipment issues
Actually, course length is the largest issue that determines the number of runs. Transitions and timing issues can occur during parts of the day. The length of the course affects us the entire day.
that's true, with a large amount of cars the small increase in lap times stack up maybe if everyone drive's as fast as mark we will get more runs in however, people still need to move fast to get on the course because that delay also stacks up
Well i know the drill so ill be prepared to stand in the snowy/wet field after my run set. Just for clarification, a quick rack puts me in M4 correct
Skimming through the rules there is nothing that I have found yet that would bump a car out of prepared class for having a quick ratio steering rack. I'll have to read more into later, but I don't see anything mentioned about steering components. It can't be used in stock but I don't see anything about it in prepared or modified.
this discussion came up before with andrew's wagon last year. he has a q rack and for some reason it was determined that it put him in m4. maybe mark remembers?
Interesting... Well at any rate im pretty sure my 06 driveline pushes me into M4. So were going to have mixed class runs and an m4 run then huh?
I took a quick glance at the entry list, too many cars that are unclassed to figure out what is an even split right now.
A quick steering rack puts a car in Mod. It is allowed in mod based on "Any suspension may be used. This allows changes to all components and geometry". There is nothing in stock or prepared that allows this change and therefore it is not allowed per "All items that are not specifically allowed or referred to as unrestricted must be of manufacturer’s specification".
I believe my owner's manual states "Q-racks are pimp and should be used when possible." It's in the specifications section.
talked to the landowner, this will be a dirty rallyx for sure! be prepared for mud, mud, mud and possibly mud. also snow.
Well I just found out my winters from the WRX do not fit on the Leggy. If anyone has a set of 195/60/15 winters on 5 x 100 wheels I could borrow for Sunday I would be forever grateful. LMK via pm ASAP please
PM'd ya. You are more than welcome to use my 185/65/15 RED wheels from last year. They are Kuhmo Izens, but they're getting kinda low on tread.
I'd say the Hankook's I'm borrowing from you have about a 1/3rd more tread. They're not down to the wear bars yet.
how low are we talking? Worst case I will leave the leggy at home and run the wrx. Just pisses me off that I spent all that time on it and didn't think of this sooner.
They fit pretty good. They're pretty wide, but they don't rub anywhere and actually looks like they have enough clearance on the fenders. I think they'll work good. Thanks again. edit: the gold looks pretty good too, better than I thought.
Just finished processing the pre-registrations. 34 people. I think you'd better do the short courses.
I got a DSLR for myself today, so Sunday'll be a field test. It's just a Rebel XS, nothing special, but at least I own this one.
Weather forecast for Cannon Falls. I'd like a long course, but with snow the speeds will really drop so it might take too long, short course is probably the best.
We will be designing the course morning of - somewhat on the fly depending on conditions. General idea of what it should be but lenght may need to be adjusted accordingly
this is going to be my first attendance to a rally cross, coming from a lifetime of motocross racing, i am fully excited to witness this. athough i am not racing, yet. i will be taking pictures and video of this event. anyone interested in some lens time let me know.
Let's give it a try tonight. I will miss the winerforces for sure. But what ever gets me running. I'm also working on getting some outback struts for future use.
