    Well, I have got:
    -ported ej205 heads,
-fair condition ej205 short block, I could recondition this... or build it
    -Eagle h-beam rods

    I need to get:
    -head gasket kit
    -head studs
    -main and rod bearings
    -pistons(if I'm building this up)
-oil pan and other bock acsessories

if my goal is to run a round 300 awhp and the occational 75 shot No2, do I need to build it up? or could I reuse the stock parts (piston, con rods, etc...)?

Is it worth it to install sti Cams, and shimless buckets? Or re-use good valves (only 20,000 mile on them)?

Those are some pretty high numbers, what kind of EM are you thinking? I say good luck, but ive always thought of the ej20 as made of glass...but this is just my opinion.

Will the AVCS 2.5L cams work in an EJ205?

kinda going with what ever falls in my lap, I'm going to start with the motor, and kinda work my way out...

as to not get overwhelmed... this will be a long term project. I think from what I've read the ej205 has its limitations, but it is not quite made of glass, the heads were $127.00, the short block was $100.00, I'm going to continue to peice this togather as it comes.

next I have to decide what to do for pistons, would stock cast peices hold up to 300awhp? I don't think so... buy what do I know?:(

the 06-07 wrx cams are the same as the sti cams, the sti, 04-07sti have the same cams.

you can put the 2.5l avcs cams into the ej205 head, but won't be able to control the avcs (without a few other things)

thanks, I think some mild cams would work well with the ported heads, and full exhaust, I think with the combination of the cams and ported heads I'd loose low end, but gain slightly in top end. With out cams it is hard to imagine too much bennifit from the ported heads.

PROLLY, but $600.00 is still steep for me, I'm looking to find what small improvment I can from sti cams. I think If I do go for a high flowing head + Cams + Larger turbo (thinking T03/04, or holset) I should be quite laggy... but I would hit my goal hp before N2O...

I figure I can afford to be a little laggy if...

    I'm running:
    -4.111 diff
    -nitros to aid spool
    -e85
