This is acceptable but take the time to aim them correctly. With the fog lights you can set them up so they do not disperse the light above your low beams. The easiest way to do this is to aim your low beams (correctly) first. Then start to aim your fog lights. When standing in front of the car, 4+ car lengths back on a flat surface start to kneel down to the ground. This will allow you to gauge the height of your fogs vs your low beams. As you remember your low beams are already correctly adjusted. As you kneel down your eyes will come to the point where the beams are focused and blind you a bit. Your fogs should not be in your vision as you are doing this, they should only engage the eyes at a focal point below your low beams. Doing this is a DIY way to make sure that your fogs aren't going to scatter and blind people on the road.

There are other methods, but this one is the way I choose.

Oh, I'm not offended at all. I was laughing at your "work harder=get rich" comment. A few years back there was a thread where something to that effect was said and I thought you might have been going through the old threads or something. It's funny to make that coincedence.

    That's this:

I stand corrected, but still its loosely enforced. Only going to get in trouble if you're a dick to the cop. But personally I don't really get blinded by cars with HIDs its the trucks that blind people cause the lights sit higher up haha so what are your guys opinions on the 55watt halogen lights that are technically legal but brighter than most HIDs?

Yes, most of those types of halogen bulbs are a much better alternative than drop-in HID kits. Halogen headlights are designed for the beam that halogen bulbs produce. HID bulbs produce a different beam of light that scatters and glares from the headlights.

I stopped reading after about 10 posts...but for what its worth...HID's can work in a reflector house - that's designed for it.

The Saabaru's came with HID's as an option from the factory. It was rumored that the reflector housings were the same (in the saabaru) for the HID and halogens. My Saabaru came with halogens and I tried HID's. They weren't horrible, but I was not too pleased with the results. I probably would not do that mod again. I decided to buy an STi just so I could have factory HID's and projectors :D
