Sti has 6speed tranny unless its JDM...Its going to all drop right in though..You will be good to go of you have the ecu and wire harness too...Some others who have done these swaps can chime in for some better info though.

With enough time, money and patience anything can be done.

I've done the wiring on a 01 RS with a JDM Sti swap. The customer purchased a front clip and had it delivered to my shop. Merging the harness was a little tough. I was given 3days to do the swap, but took 5 days to get the car fired up and drive back to Chicago. This was done in 2002 and not much info was available then. I had alot of help from Subaru to get me the pinouts on the ecu.
Dropping the motor is cake. You'll need a turbo subframe to have room for the uppipe. There are a few other things needed but I don't remember all of them. The harness, you can either send it out and bring it to the shop and i'll merge it. I need practice(challenge) anyways.

^ PM Chux about wiring. He did mine and I have 0 complaints.

To do the STi swap it is very straight forward (besides the wiring which is complex, and generally the hardest part of a swap)

    You will need:
Engine (complete long block w/ all STi sensor, manifolds, Intercooler, injectors, ect...)
    Complete exhuast and turbo
Legacy Turbo (91-94) or WRX/STi Engine crossmember. Or you can modify your stock one
    ECU, and Misc controllers
Complete wiring harnesses from both cars
    WRX/STi Radiator & fans
WRX/STi power steering lines, pump, res.
And probably some more stuff I cannot think of.

The best way to do it is to get a parts car that way you should have everything you would need somewhere. The next question is what transmission are you going to run. The 5 speeds were not put in STis for a reason which you may want to consider. Cause if you are going to do the 6 speed conversion you will need about $5k more in parts.
