so I was wondering where this sound is coming from.(02WRx) Say I accellerate on snow and all wheel spins, there is a thump thump sound coming from the rear of my car. Sometime even on turns where I hit a few pumps, mostly left turns. I know for sure its not my struts(or is it?). My struts are NOT dead. When I still had my AGX it also does this. The sound is not like metal to metal but Sounds a bit louder then dead strut. Is it traction problem(to the wheels)? my SPT CBE hitting under neath car? Strut tops not tight enought? Spare tire?(will check if its loose) what else could it be?
let me just say you butchered the living hell out of "accelerate". i say. that an exhaust sounds more like a rattle than a thump. seeing as when you 'get' on the gas it causes torque and that will translate to vibration in your motor thus ringing out through your cat back. rear diffs dont usually do that unless you've beat your car to absolute piss. i think i would check the top hats and the screws on your rear end suspension. while youre in there it wouldnt hurt to make sure your tool kit and your tire are tightened down properly

I give EJ20 a hard time (he pretty much expects it form me now) but this was lamer then his misspelling man... 1. and to be truthful with you you really haven't had much experience with a loose hanger or an exhaust that is hitting the rear diff or sub-frame have you... DEFINITELY CLUNKS not rattles... 2. again... how much experience have you had... anything with gears can do weird things.. I parked my WRX for 3 days and came back to a whining noise when it never made it when I parked it... 3. Decent suggestion but doubt it is the cause... 4. seeing that you railed EJ20 for missing 1 letter yet you BUTCHERED you're... you gonna dish it be prepared to take some... 5. another redeeming helpful suggestion...
Um, thumping in your rear end, eh? Is this open to translation?!? lol Sorry, too easy. My guess is also snow/ice in and around things it shouldn't be.
