so I have perminantly moved into the other half of the shop and am not currently working.

if you need anything done to your subie shoot me a pm, I can do pretty much anything

    some ideal things would be:

    Catback/turbo back exhaust

    Turbo installs

    intercooler installs

    brakes

    clutch/flywheel installs

    any kind of fluid change

and for those of you looking to get your winter tires mounted I know someone who does it for REALLY cheap.

also, engine swaps, boosted N/As and trans swaps are all up my alley as well.

let me know what you need done and we can figure out a price or give me a call on my cell

    * NEWLY ADDED *

    detailing
    header/up/down/turbo heat wrapping
custom gauge wiring by snowbum my right hand man
    head gaskets
anything thats broken on your subie I can fix, aside from rebuilding an auto trans that is

    * competitive pricing on major service
    * quick, but reliable turnaround
    * satisfaction gaurantee on all Labor.

I think I need all 4 struts replaced (04 STi). Not even sure if that's the problem but I'm getting that clunk when I apply torque, the ride is bumpy, and I have Tien springs on it. I'd love an estimate. Also include parts if you don't mind ;)

the harsh ride may be just because of the springs.

and since I am just trying to get my name out there as a legit guy just pm me what you are willing to pay and we will go from there :cool:

thanks for all the interest guys!

if you wanna sound legit then seet the prices you are willing to work for and not let the customer tell you what they will only pay ;)

cheapest isnt always the best.. as they say sometimes you get what you pay for... so for professionalism usually you dont have to go the cheapest to get work.. just be fair and do great work...

thats what im going for. fair, affordable and relaible work that I will stand behind 100%

if the customer names a price, I can work with it a little. its not going to effect the job quality, my goal is to have that person come back when they say, get a turbo upgrade or need anything else and make them feel comfortable that the work done on thier car will be unsurpassed.

    good point though!

You have access to buy parts or do I need to bring my own struts? How can I tell if they're worn or not. Car has 43k miles of hard driving and they look to be original...

Gets like a Thud when I first apply torque independent of anything else. At first I thought it was the rear diff blowing up but it's much too loud... it drives totally fine. Sound only happens when I apply >200wtq "shock loading"

You must be talking about the famous subaru rear diff thump. So it only happens on a hard launch??

I call dibs on being the first customer!!

    Need headgaskets swapped ASAP.

Here's a good, significant $$ job for you. I'm hoping you can undercut Morrie's by a lot, though - cause their labor quote was ENORMOUS. Parts are only $65 bucks though!

you are gonna wanna do VC gaskets too, because they have to come off to take the heads off. but its not a whole lot more, another $43.32

Also, I'm thinking that if I drain the coolant and put straight water in and change the oil that I might be okay to drive it out to Tim's place in Mound (probably 40+ miles).

Anyone got an opinion on how safe or unsafe that would be??

Also, could do stop-leak or something too, but I don't like putting crap like that inside my engine if I can avoid it at all.

Hope I hear from Tim soon.

This sucks. Good timing - I do not haz its.

Not really launches, I don't like to burn my clutch so I don't do that much. It's more coming off first and into second... but only if I'm pushing it. Driving sanely it does nothing.

Is "the famous subaru rear diff thump" really that loud? Sounds as loud as an afterfire (I have a cat and a good tune and it's when I APPLY, not when I pull off so it's not that)

Tim, you might want to change your phone message if you want people to call you for business stuff.

Yes, sounds like something hit right under the back seat. It usually happens on hard launches or after the 1-2 shift.

I just put in an unsprung clutch not to long ago and man did this become annoying. Mine does it between 1st and 2nd, 2nd and 3rd, 3rd and 4th. But only when fliping through gears. When driving normal and letting the rpms drop the car goes through gears silents and smother then an automatic. rev matching and side stepping seem to be the only way to keep it from doing it while running it on the track.

good link there i might look into that.

Cool. Looks like I get to be the first customer at Tims Shop!

He's going to replace my headgaskets with STi ones. New valve cover gaskets and intake manifold gaskets will be going in. Timing belt & tensioner. Checking the water pump - replacing if bad. Also throwing some new exhaust manifold gaskets on. Fab'ing a hanger for the exhaust.

He's undercutting Morrie's by quite a bit, though I'll let him say how much if he wants to.
