Yeah I'll throw that up. Edit* That is with both pulls. The car seemed to want to run more boost the 2nd pull, after reviewing our boost logs, after it was warmer. ::shrugs:: On a N/A car, you can watch the pulls repeat over each other. Turbocharged cars are more finicky on the dyno and it shows in the graphs. The cars can swing a few hp every pull.
Turbo XS short ram intake, divorced wastegate downpipe, scoobysport axleback, and Cobb stage 2 map for 91 octane. That's it. My boost only got up to 17.7 PSI. Do you think I should switch to a HWG map
Wow...Cobb stage 2 claimed 350 Crank HP...that should still be around 260 AWHP. Wow...228? I guess that is what I should be expecting with mine...sheesh *disappointment*
^^^ I'll just tell Josh to up my weight to 6000lbs...Then I'll be pushing easily 400AWHP on that dyno..
Mine isn't weight based, its load. Adding load really doesn't change stuff from what I've noticed. It allows some cars to build more boost sooner and stuff like it. Most load rates are in the 80-120 range. This is ramp rate ratio. A ramp rate of 100 allows the vehicle to go 10mph every 10 seconds. 120 is 12mph every 10 seconds, and so on. I mean, I could turn it down all the way, but I guarantee your car will go nuclear. Kurt's ramp speed was in the 110 range. We've figured out that most 200-300whp cars like the 100-120 range. I am sure that number will work for higher hp as well...just all we've had on the dyno is that range of power. Kurt- Make sure Ron uses an Intake Air temperature sensor and dyno's your car as close to 1:1 as possible. Doing it the same day helps guarantee accuracy, but atleast you'll have a bases for comparison.
Just a quick question don't want to pull it off topic, havent read through the whole thread. Josh, how much is it for dyno pulls, and how much per hour to use the dyno? Would there be a discount rate for half or full day rentals? Just curious if I end up needing to tune my car in MN thanks Ben
Yeah. It's funny, that's something I've always noticed using APR's DD. They definately need to "warm up". We typically do a warm up run if it's sat for like 20 minutes or longer, and then start from there. Not even a pull, but drive the car nice up to like 80MPH, and then shut it down. Great piece of equipment! Jorge (RiftsWRX) www.ProjectWRX.com
This is the message I've posted on iwsti.com for those involved in the tune. Please PM me here or on iwsti.com Tune cost: $350 -$100 deposit = $250 not counting additional maps or tuning fees. The final cost will be determined by Doug. The final fee can be paid to Doug or called into Tray for payment. Dyno fees: $100/hr. Josh at LSE Performance said he is going to work out a lot of the details as far as tracking who is on the dyno so that things are fair among all participating. Plan on at least an hour of dyno time for a basic tune, more for additional maps or more in-depth modded cars. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~______________________ Timing: Last time I spoke with Josh at LSE I don't remember what he said start time would be, but I would imagine around 9am. I'll call both Doug and Josh to determine start times for both days. End times will vary, and I'll get more info once I speak with Josh. What I need from each of you: Please PM me with your full name and contact info. I'll need this to help Josh, Doug, and myself to organize this event. Josh has mentioned grilling both days, so I'll get more info, unless he chimes in on this forum. This message is a repeat in this thread, PMs, and on www.mnsubaru.com Thanks guys, Todd
so the $350 doesnt cover the cost of being on the dyno? For a tune we are paying $350 ($250 + deposit) + $100 bucks an hour for the dyno? um, this is getting pretty expesive for me now.
^^Correct. Here is an excerpt from the original post here: *** Just a note that the $350 does NOT include dyno fees. LSE Performance is charging $100/hr (same as RS Motors), so the final price for a GREAT tune is $450-500. Todd
Hey, I definitly have a backup that is willing to get his car tuned. let me know if there is any openings. We were just going to show up and see if there was any extra time. Russ
Russ, Sorry I don't check this forum often. Check out my iwsti.com thread in the midwest forum. It's stickied. There should be a little room for someone to join. Todd

oh...Hey Don! I wish I could be there Saturday too, but I'm working. I'll be there Sunday for my tune @ 10:30am...I hope to see you then!?! Sorry, I do not plan on going to firestone this week...Just getting everything ready for the Tune...
I agree...the dyno is really low reading vs. others out there. I know the performance is there, but it's nice to know how your car stacks up. Well, with a baseline and then a final reading you can compare and contrast other cars with similar mods. Guys, looking forward to this weekend. Thank YOU for making this all possible. Should be a good time. LSE is grilling out for us to if the weather cooperates.
Now that is good... Kind of like the one I saw a long time ago.... "Rally proven NOT rally inspired."
Thanks again to everyone that came out. It was a great event, and we are looking forward to seeing everyone later.
Thanks again Josh. I'm glad everything worked out and your facility was open to the event. We'll do it again in the future. How did everything work out on the last car? The one really modded?
Which one of you were Josh? I met about 4 guys working there yesterday and never got any names. You the guy with the twin turbo Mitsu or the guy who drove Aaron's Z on the dyno?
I have the blue stealth. I think I had a Canterbury Park hat on all weekend (its my latest hat that I am wearing it seems). Who were you? I was really bad at catching names.
I was the one drooling over your dyno sheet when you came up and told me "that was the pull that snapped the rod".:eek4:
