Greetings, I purchased touch-up paint (Wr Blue Pearl J361SVA000A1) a few months ago and, just recently, needed to use it. It is quite a bit darker than the paint on the car (2018 WRX). I shook that bottle thoroughly in mid-70's temp.. Does anyone know if there if there is more than one shade of that color? I shared this story with the parts dept. and, to their knowledge, there wasn't another option. Thoughts? Thx
I'm pretty sure there have been a couple paint codes using that name or something similar. Go by the paint code (that part number is for K7X). Run your VIN, and make sure it uses that same code. Is it the 2-part touch-up paint, with the clear coat, like this: Or the single part one, like this: The second style was phased out about 5 years ago, so if you got that kind, it may have been on the shelf for that long or longer.
