this has been a problem for awhile now but either im driving more or it seems more frequent but sometimes regardless of how hard i accelerate sometimes my tranny will just not shift into 2nd its like the gear is not there no grinding nothing just a firm resistance. i can jump past it to 3rd and continue fine but still dosent solve the problem. in the past i was able 2 skip it and shift down to it and it would work fine then that stopped working and i had to sometimes pull over start in 1st and go up again and that normally worked. well the latest time it happened neither of them worked and i finally just put the clutch part way in and ground the gear a little then it popped in. ive asked other people and ive got could be syncro's could be the shift fork and i was wondering if any of you have seen this or know what is going on? thanks
If you let the clutch pedal up just a little bit, will that allow it to go into gear? Also, have you checked the fluid level lately? It sounds like a 2nd gear syncro if that is the only gear you are having trouble with.
yes only gear im having issues with also pretty much nothing i can do to get it to go in when it does it aside from what i listed above i will try letting the pedle out a little more next time and see if it works.
havent tried double clutching but even rev matching dosent help to get it in thats what made me think not syncro and more shift fork
Rev matching still uses the synchros, just makes it smoother for the engine and occupants in the car. Double-clutching into second (assuming it works) will rule out a shift fork issue, and lead straight to the synchros.
Bwaahahaha, god I love this guy. He's also lucky that double shot of NOS didn't blow the welds on the intake!
next time i have it come up i will try that and get back to you like i said it happens very rarely but has increased in occurrence but has not got to the point of a weekly thing happens only once or twice a month it seems
