    Hey guys,

I'm in a bit of a crappy spot. I have an 04 Sti and my center diff has completely detonated. So I am in the process of figuring out what to do for the diff. I do need to find a place that will work on the transmission though. So I was wondering if anyone knows of a transmission shop that does good work, that will work on an sti trans. Preferably somewhere north of like the maple grove are or somewhere around there. Anything north of there would be good as I am out of grand forks. If anyone has somewhere that would be able to do it, pleases let me know!

    Thank you,
    Nick Kruger

Well I bought the car in August with 110k miles....so idk how the previous owners treated it, but I'm guessing not well because I also spun a rod bearing about a month after buying the car, and when we tore the engine apart to rebuild it, there was more carbon build up and sludge than I've ever seen....anyhow I was driving home from work one day in early December and I was coming around a corner, as I got on the gas on the backside of the corner the wheels spun on some ice and then caught on the asphalt again and there was a nice popping sound. After that the car makes a horrible grinding sound and will not move forward very well at all, but drives just fine in reverse.

I am, I need a place that can take the trans apart, and replace the center diff, and since I'll have it open, have the synchros replaced. Where are you located?

All good suggestions here. But my #1 would probably be Graham Evans, and he's right off 81 in Maple Grove. Former Prodrive employee and Subaru World Rally Team Crew Chief. He's done a few.

Only contact I know for him is whiskersusa (at) hotmail.com

Replacing the center diff isn't difficult at all but if it granaded make sure whoever does it takes it completely apart to inspect and clean all the debris from the broken diff. Had this happen on my jdm 6 speed. Luckily is was shut down right away and didn't ruin any other gears inside.

Can't just switch the 4th. I believe it's 2nd to 5th that will end up being replaced. I have to look again. I can't memorized everything anymore
