    Tony the idea was to hold it on a Tuesday so people could come out to a car event. We are bring and grill and everything to tailgate the event. 4pm - 10pm

    I'm with Tony, not driving all the way to Rosemount on a weekday just to hangout at DCTC. I'd be up for a garage meet!

    This thread is laser focused on one event at one location per week in order to find a suitable alternative to Calhoun. Given the supreme cluster**** the last thread rapidly devolved into, I think we're best served by discouraging things-not-related-to-finding-suitable-alternative-to-Calhoun in this thread.

    That said, nobody is going to stop you from organizing your own meet outside this thread if you'd like.

    I am down for Tony's house next week and or boom island, I dont work all week so after bar is key because someone wants a alcoholic beverage for once.

    Thank you Derrick for this thread! A replacement for Calhoun has been loooong overdue. Hopefully a new location can be decided without any drama! I vote, after a multitude of new locations have been visited/explored, that we have a poll/pole vote for the new spot. ;)

    I agree. We have found a lot of great places so far. No idea why Jesse is being such a sandy vagina today, but we still love him. So far people really liked Long Lake and Bohemian Flats. We added a few more to the list. Lots of potential out there. I won't be at anything local this Tuesday (the 6th) due to running the DCTC event. I figured people would want to come out to a car event so we placed it on a Tuesday for that reason. The following Tuesday it sounds like people want to try out Boom Island.

    If you have location suggestions post them up. If you have feels about a given location, say so constructively. Don't try to repurpose this thread explicitly to pull people away from the "scheduled" event. Also, we know about the ****ing drive times. We know every location is going to piss someone off. We all know that, accepted it, and jumped on board with this thread with those things in mind after the last thread was completely lost to cockwaving over that "issue" even though that wasn't the actual issue at hand. This thread is for trying new locations and attempting to discover a location offering a good compromise of all the things people are looking for.

    I fully intend to gleefully abuse my mod privileges to temp ban the next person who ****s on this thread in an un-amusing manner (as judged by me). I've been without my car for many months and I'm not going to allow the same vapid douchenozzlery that murdered the last thread get in the way of me having somewhere to go on Tuesday nights with my freshly rebuilt camry. :)

    Ok so in the spirit of continuing our search, it looks like Theodore Wirth is next?

    Potential List of Future Spots:
    - long lake (off of i694 and i35w) July 9th 2013 Group Response was Positive
    - hidden falls/Crosby lake (off of hwy 5 and hwy 62) Holy Bugs Batman
    - mill ruins/north loop/bohemian flats (north side of downtown Minneapolis) Group Response was Positive
    - como park (off of Lexington and Como) - northeast park (off of 35w and the quarry shopping center) Pulled from list due to waterpark madness
    - Theodore Wirth (north Minneapolis/golden valley)
    - mounds park (off of I94 east of downtown St. Paul)
    - minnehaha falls/ lake nokomis (off of hwy 55 and hwy 62)
    -Boom Island

    not really simce the two you marked on the map is the only two main lot....and plus the one you mark that is at the dock, the road there is super bad...

    Maybe Wirth isn't a viable option then? If we skipped Wirth, would folks be opposed to bumping Boom Island up the list for this coming week? It keeps with pattern of alternating between East and West.

    OK, I'm formally proposing to meet tomorrow at Boom Island (instead of Wirth). The secondary lots aren't big, but we'll just just have to see what it looks like when we get there. What do the rest of you think?

    I may finally be able to show up for one of these meets and had a question. Are kids frowned upon? I have a 16 and 6 yr old that would love to drool on everyone's rides..

    Yeah a lot of us are 30-something kids. Thanks for reminding me to sport that hat more often.

    Boom island sounds good. Honestly Wirth and Nokomis probably won't be worth it. Might be time to try Boon island then vote.

    I shall be in attendance tonight, looking forward to this spot.

    I'm also up for going out later...preferably Old Chicago in uptown, so I can work on finishing this mini tour. The mini tour is actually kind of nice because you get to choose the majority of your own beers for the mini tour.
