soo i have noticed lately that my car has been kinda jumpy i guess you could say...i will start up my car drive for a little bit, about out of my neighborhood, and i will come to a complete stop and a stop sign and when i hit the gas it kinda jumps a bit? idk if that makes sense at all...but anyone had this problem before?
Reset the ecu. Unplug the battery, hit the brakes, reconnect the battery, restart it and let it idle for 15 minutes until it gets to operating temperature. I think it may be the change in the weather. Only does it when its cold/not warmed up, no?
noo i have some weird ass intake in it...didnt really want to buy a new one cause of my future plans for my car..and it was kinda like this in the winter too...could it be due to the fact i havent changed my tranny fluid for awhile?
For the most part, intakes = bad. As previously stated, it wouldn't be a bad idea to clean the MAF and reset the ECU. Its a good place to start, anyway.
hahah that and my car is getting kinda higher millage...i think its just time to get rid of the ol RS motor and maybe do an upgrade
Does the car idle weird? meaning high then low over and over again? Also whens the last time you changed the spark plugs?
Lemme know what you want to sell it for my girlfriend is looking for an RS and she loves white ones!!! (auto or 5speed?)
do you have a regular short ram or an actual CAI that goes into the fender? If you do have a CAI, look at the filter, probably dirty as hell. Also, goto NAPA or Checker or any auto store and get a can of MAF cleaner. Start there.
lol the intake came with the car. haha. but thanks for all the suggestions! im assuming this is all extremely easy?
hmmm Mr Mod... you missed the post above yours by only 36 or so minutes. not to mention his avatar...!!!!
didn't miss anything. I never assume that an avatar is the actual car. and all '02+ taillights look the same to me. and saying it's an RS is very little help. and we still don't know what trans it has.
Ok, then it's even more important to replace the stock airbox. The RS's are even more picky when it comes to the MAF. I would never recommend replacing anything pre-maf. Some people have even had problems just by removing the snorkus.
