Ok, so I (well, Dan) did a VF39/STi swap on Sunday on my 07 dragonwagonofcertaindeath. I reflashed with the Cobb AP map for the configuration. I was somewhat nonplussed and also disappointed to learn we had the "T" reversed with pizzill on the wrong side:ugh:. I digress. Tuesday I scheduled an appointment with Senor Bullwinkle for a road tune including a GMBCS addition to the above hot mess. Additional "mods" include a PnP VF39, Maddad Stealthback (MP/DP) and STi axleback. The results, to me, were rather pleasing (at thy wheels). The above reflects my configuration with Cobb OTS map versus final road tune with GMBCS added to said configuration. Draw your own conclusions but the baseline versus final results is valid on a relative basis. And it causes coronal stirring. Now, this is *just* an old skool VF39 on a WRX 2.5L but, for this old fat pop, it tugged harder than a Thai hooker trying to get to her smoke break. A lot of thrust, albeit seemingly a skosh later than my punchy stock TD04, that pulls much harder and farther than my Stage 2 WRX with OTS reflash. It makes my RE92s feel like roller skates on ice. Mucho grande ups to Toaster, Etchy, Piddster, Shibbs and Bowltinkle for getting the dragwagonofcertaindeath to its current state of existence. Also, Pillowpants, your disregard for modern fashion and common sense underwhelms me! If I forgot anyone it is because you smell like feet and Cheetos. Y'all make an old man feel like a girl again!
Very nice and impressive, I will have the same exact setup soon, nice to know Mr. Winkle has a base map to start from
All that torque is Sean's P&P VF39 wanting to boost like a champ (yay P&P). The final tune had peak boost at 21.5 PSI tapering down to about 17 at 6500. I seriously had to work to take boost down to where it was really in an acceptable range that I felt comfortable sending him on his way. If he wanted to push the tune, we could've gotten another PSI or two out of the thing. Nice choice of mods and a fun car, though!
schweet Thats awsome sean. Very nice numbers. Now load the roof up with a few bikes for even more powa!
Update: Car is running like a champ. Unfortunately, t3h bu++ dyno is already getting used to it! Random bits...pulls all the way to RL/fuel cut off w/o issues. Haven't tried 4th and 5th to RL (and likely won't) but 3rd pulls hard all the way to 95mph easily. B00$+ gauge is on order...
Yup, Nate is pretty much the man. He's definitely on the very short list of anyone in the entire country that I'd allow to monkey with my setup.
Got 350 miles on my last tank of 91oct with substantial asshattery...right in the neighborhood of my TD04. That's right, I have a 3.7gal tank.
