    UPDATED ?

So I found that I have a UP leak at the manifold. Would this cause me to not be hitting target boost in 3rd but does in 4th and 5th? Or might I have other issues? The car sounds like it has waste gate flutter all the time under boost. It did not do this after I got tuned by bullwinkle, just in the last couple weeks. Other than that the car runs good, can't really hear the leak either. I plan on getting a 2x thick gasket from grimmspeed.

    My mods:
    Invidia UP
    Cobb cat less DP
    SPT cat back
    Grimmspeed BCS
    Bullwinkle tune

Ok, do you have an UP or DP leak?
Title says DP leak, post says UP leak.
    Which is it?

If UP leak, that can prevent it from hitting target boost.
As far as the fluttering goes...live with it.
Search wastegate flutter (here and nasioc) and you'll find results.

Yeah its UP sorry forgot to change that. Can I get a mod to change that for me?

I have looked into the flutter just making sure I covered everything it is doing.

Also it seems weird that it would hit target boost in 4th and 5th.

run some seafoam through the car to see if you have any leaks at the flanges, if you do we have all of the gaskets in stock at GS.

That would be because 4th and 5th are considered higher load gears. There for your going to get more exhaust flow to the turbine compaired to 3rd gear. Your leak is going to hinder your performance more in the lower gears and less and less as you get high in the ratios

Thank you that makes sense now.

I did the seafoam that's how I know its at the manifold to up. I didn't see any other spots it was leaking so I hope that's it. I've read that that is the troble spot on the WRX's.

    What they said.

An UP leak would cause you to miss boost and run quite rich. Get that fixed.

WG flutter is 100% normal. It's a mechanical sound and not something that can or should be "fixed."

would a stiffer waist gate actuator fix that issue for him? or would it create a new one?

That might make the flutter noise go away, but doing that would also change the boost characteristics of the turbo, and at minimum would require a new tune.

Wastegate flutter is 100% perfectly normal. As a normal mechanical noise, there is absolutely nothing to "fix." To anyone who believes it is a problem, I'd suggest removing your turbocharger or buying a Honda Civic.

    HELP!!

So yesterday after work I was heading home and the car felt fast! Hitting boost like its supposed to even in third. Ok weird haven't replaced the gasket yet. I stop for about and hour then tried again and its acting just like before. Why would it do that? Is there something else going on?
