i say get her a gift certificate for a spa day, where she can relax and get message and or facial...gal darn it...tear another v day alone..but hey its about love in general..love of friends and family not just having a boyfriend/girlfriend so..yea..it still sucks..

What it comes down to is it really isn't about money. If you find a gift she'll really like, than great. But if you can think of an inexpensive activity that she'll smile when she thinks about the next day, that's even better. IMO, it's not about the designer or price, but rather that you did something thoughtful for her because you care. However, v-day is just the day that you're 'supposed' to do this. I'm not a big fan, but it's hard not to buy into the hype, especially if you're dating someone. If she really cares about you, she'll love whatever you decide to buy/do just because it's coming from you. Don't stress too much about it.
I have double trouble. V day is also my wifes birthday but last year I took her to her first Wild game and she loved it. Not too many women will be excited about that if they are looking for a romantic evening. A spa package seems to make any woman happy. Worked for me before:ladysman:
Agreed. I'm all about doing stuff for valentines day. At least for me, it seems to have a more lasting impression, and carries a lighter load on the pocket book. My girlfriend likes me to buy her things. She really wants some new paint or wheels, but I don't think I can swing it till summer. Maybe I could do something nice and inexpensive and put that LSD back together for her and cure her of that nasty pegleg she's had. hmmm, I'll have to think about it. :laugh:

My girlfriend and I decided that we are going to White Castle (romantic trip to the castle FTW), we have done the cheesy dinners the last three years. We are also going to see a movie after but we figured why not have a little fun in Valentines day in stead of doing what everyone else does.
Alls I got to say is Valentines day is overrated. Most of my Valentines day have been spent wondering why valentines day is so special, ****, I don't even get work off. But I loves helping with plans. Okay the most important thing I think...BE ATTENTIVE. I loves it when Fobia tells me how happy I make him and that I'm beautiful. He makes sure that I know this everyday, I thought it was kind of odd at first but it has made me more keen on him than ever. Let the women know how much they mean to you guys and they will appreciate it.

I don't wish to go out on valentines day - as anyplace that you could go is going to be packed. Tons of people + aegis = bad time I like dinner at home and a movie. As long as I don't have to make the dinner I'm happy. Also, chocolate.
And bilknuts, I hate to say it, but some girls just suck no matter how hard you try to make them happy. You're better off now.
^ I second that I used to be one myself. I've come up with my valentines day plans... Fobia and I are going to take Betsy for a car wash. I'll make some dinner, or he will take me to Bennihana's but I highly doubt they will be able to fit us in. Then we'll watch something funny(cuddle time).. South Park? Borat? The office? I dunno, but I better laugh. Maybe get up and post whore it up on MNSubaru while I sit in his lap. Scratch or massage each others backs like monkeys. Maybe fight. We are not buying each other anything, he always is more thoughtful than I am when it comes to gifts. I suck at it and I feel stupid when I give him random stuff I think he'd like. At all times he will hold my hand lol. Valentines day, and my birfday are the two days I will not tolerate him looking at other females. And then we'll go to bed. Maybe some linoleum munchin.
this is the exact reson I hate v-day, christ what a stupid holiday that makes the day revolve around women.
I never meant that its hard to do or labor intensive, or even a strain on the pocket book, I just know that this "holiday" is meant for men to please the women and not the other way around. And you just verified that by laying out what you "expect" to happen. And what makes you so sure I'm single?
Hella-Because you said you were single in one of your posts, and that plan doesn't seem too labor intensive if I may be making the dinner that night and we'll be sitting on our asses. Besides he wanted me to make plans, and I said valentines day is overrated, but if I'm going to make plans that's what we'll be doing, something we usually do.
